Thanks guys for another great video. I am an upper intermediate hobbyist and just bought myself a Kawai CA49. Even though it is no match for my 73 year old, hand made European upright, I definitely think that it is better than many entry level acoustics. The action feels quite (but not exactly) authentic and it is very consistent. The speakers are powerfull enough to fill in medium room. I had the chance to spend some time with both line-ups (I haven't played 401 and 501 yet, but 49, 59, 701 and 901 and the Clavinova's) To be honest, I didn't find Yamaha CLP735 and 745 as engaging as the CA49 and CA59, though I must admit this is very subjective. However, 775 and 785 are as good (if not better) as the 701 and 901. But then again my heart lies with the Kawai's. I just happen to connect better with Kawai actions and I love the SKEX sound (especially the competition version in the new line up). As a conclusion, if I were to spend less money than a Kawai K200, I wouldn't be bothered with any lesser acoustics and go buy myself a CA901.
I am not going to swap my Clavinova for a Kawai although you have spiked my interest. I have yet to play a Kawai that was better for me than a Yamaha although both keep getting better and sound more similar while the keyboards are delightfully different.
Sadly where I live "Canada", Kawai isn't readily available. I mean the distribution chain is quite poor. Back when I was in the market for a new digital, I wished I coukd buy a CA79 for MSRP. But it was so much overpriced, it made absolutely no sense. In the end i went Yamaha because the CLP-785 was actually cheaper than the CA79. So oftentimes, the choice is kind of made for you.

I think Kawai blows it out of the water with the CA series. I love the Kawai keyboard action.
Do you handle any purchases online for delivery to Oregon? Do you sell Yamaha as well as Kawai?

I feel that the Kawai action is way closer to a grand piano that the Yamaha ones because it has a certain bouncy feel to the keys...
