      Hello, is it hard to get scholarship for international student?

    • @OliviaLeigh

      @@anujinann6538 Hi! I believe they have available financial aid for international students (here is a link: www.ut.edu/admissions/financial-aid/financial-aid-for-international-students). I would recommend calling the school and asking them about scholarships you may be eligible for!

    Im attending UT fall 2021 and im super excited! One of the msot important questions is, Is there a large LGBTQ+ community there? Just pretty nervous of how things will be in Florida coming from California

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can park off-campus, but there are definitely limited places and no guarantee they'll be a spot open. But if you bring a car and don't register it through the school or park on campus they can't stop you

    Loved the video! I’m from Norway, and I’m concidering applying in Tampa for 2021/2022. What is the age gap in the classes? I’m turning 21 this summer. Is it hard to get to know people for us who study abroad?❤️ I’ve never been in America

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depending on the class, there's usually a good mix of ages. Upper-level courses are typically only juniors & seniors but lower-level courses might have a few students in every grade.
      As for studying abroad, if you are living in the dorms meeting new people shouldn't be too difficult :) I would recommend looking into clubs & activities the school has to offer to help make new friends!

    I’m not sure what dorms you’ve lived in but for freshmen dorms how did you like Vaughn vs morsani? I got accepted and I’m looking to put down my deposit for housing in just not sure which to pick. My tour only showed me McKay hall which I didn’t like to much. Also semi weird question but do you know if the bathrooms lock from the inside on both sides in Vaughn or morsani? I’m someone who just values privacy and was surprised to see ut didn’t just offer 2 people in a dorm with a communal bathroom. It seems Vaughn is the newest/ nicest imo for freshman?

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately, freshman do not pick their dorms.. they are assigned them (at least that's how it's been in the past). But to answer your question I personally loved Morsani because it was suite-style and had a common area in every 4-person room (morsani triples did not). It is also closest to the pool. However, Vaughn is also a really nice dorm, spacious, and closest to most classrooms.
      And yes, the bathrooms lock from inside haha don't worry

    • @nickchristofora3417
      @nickchristofora3417 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OliviaLeigh hahah okay thank you for the information. I really appreciate the help. I toured the school the other day and absolutely loved it. They said the sooner you submit your deposit the more chance you had to getting a "nicer room" so I took it as just the more sought after buildings. This video was very helpful! Thank you

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joining a sorority really helped me out with making my close friends, but there are also a TON of club options if greeklife isn't for you!

    Is it difficult for those not participating in greek-life to find friends/get involved?

    • @OliviaLeigh

      Not at all! Greeklife definitely gives a but of an extra push for social life but there are other ways to get involved on campus and meet new people (through clubs, classes, etc)!

    I recently submitted my enrollment deposit to UT! Should I do anything in advance? Like Greek life paper work? I’ll be a Freshman. Do freshman get to choose a housing option?

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Freshman do not choose their housing option, but I would recommend joining Facebook groups to find a roomates/roommates! Also, sorority recruitment signups are towards the end of the summer so you don't have to worry about that now

    😔 I really wanna apply! I have a 4.3 GPA! But I’m worried about the financial aid aspect! My mom makes under 20k and I’m not sure how loans work 😶 because I never thought I’d be interested but now I am

    • @JaredKauffman
      @JaredKauffman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definitely apply! UT is amazing! I'm a sophomore and I love it!! There are many resources that you can find regarding loans and how they work. Basically, loans are just money borrowed that will need to be paid back later. There are federal government loans you can apply to receive, and private lender loans too. My biggest suggestion though is to apply for as many scholarships as you can! With your strong GPA, you will certainly find scholarships available! Scholarships scholarships scholarships! Also, having a job and making/saving as much as you can will be a great habit to get into! Hope this helps! 😊😊

    What is the housing situation for juniors and seniors? Is is hard to get housing?

    • @OliviaLeigh

    How do you choose who you dorm with if you don’t know anyone there?

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will be a Facebook group created titled something along the lines of “University of Tampa Class of _____” and once you join everyone posts about themselves and usually you reach out to others or they reach out to you if interested in rooming! There are also usually groupme’s and snapchats made for incoming freshman but the fb group is where it all starts

    How is the university dealing with covid ?

    • @OliviaLeigh
      @OliviaLeigh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Off the top of my head, there are limited visitors, hybrid courses (only 18 students are allowed in a classroom per session), dining options/hours, etc.
      They have a 'spartan shield' plan in place, which you can find on their website! (Here is the link: www.ut.edu/campus-life/student-services/dickey-health-and-wellness-center/covid-19-safety-and-education)
