That cat looks pretty damn comfortable there already. A bit surprising considering he was with a previous owner for 5 years, but it signals he was very well cared for by his previous owner. It's great you're giving him another loving home. Cats judge people pretty well, so it's a big compliment he's comfortable around you already.

i really like cats, i had cats as companions myself already. some of them free roaming the streets, some didnt even bother walking into the backyard. so i can understand people wanting to have a cat as a pet, they are cute, like to cuddle and "can" show love. but they have 2 huge cons, first the one you can easy solve/fix. their litter box is always stinky, so you need to clean it daily, you dont leave your poop in the toilet for hours before flushing, so dont do it to theirs. and the 2nd one which you cant fix, all cats are their own boss. you cant train them to be less aggressive. if having children around you better make a "child-free" zone for the cat, when annoyed too much they can and will bite. all you can hope is for the cat having a nice personality, if not it will make a hell out of your life. wish you lots of luck on your journey, thank you for rescuing a fella in need of help instead of buying a fresh born kitten from the market. when i heard you saying your parents went somewhere to a random house, my heart dropped for a moment. glad my thoughts were wrong and they rescued a cat 👍

He is not necessarily itching himself on things . What he is more than likely doing is marking things with his scent from his cheeks . It is very common , basically he is claiming things within his domain . Completely harmless and kinda sweet , just him becoming comfortable with his environment .

cats love it when the toy they're chasing is dragged out of sight! just wait for them to wiggle their butt and run after it. Also toys dragged up the wall too (be careful of claws if they're not clipped! )

I hate to say it, but this is a very bad turntable. If you can't afford a better one, that's OK, but I highly recommend saving up for something better, like the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X, which isn't very expensive.

I have coastal style too and this year I realised that I could do green Fall decor. Green pumpkins, flowers etc. Goes perfectly with the blue 💙 but I love this too!
