    Great list for everyone no matter the cost. In terms of the Irish whiskey genre, for me personally, if I'm paying more then the Redbreast 12 cask is fantastic. Yellow Spot is lovely but Red Spot is overpriced for me. The Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton is the other spot whiskey that I always buy, on it's day it might just be my favourite Irish dram. Cheers and have a great Christmas.

      Great shouts there for sure! Irish is my least knowledgable area so could only play it safe to what I've tried but didn't want to exclude it either. Cheers!

    Sensible and class list of whisky.
    I’d be happy with any of those.

      Thank you very much! That was the goal - many of these aren't ground breaking but are of a quality most will always appreciate. Cheers!

    Great selections, definitely consider Teeing in the Irish options. The Single Grain and Single Malt are excellent 👌🏻. All the best.

      I really wanted to include Teeling in the mix but I've had so little of it I didn't feel like I could honestly recommend it, even though so many others have to me! Cheers!

    Nice list. I would add four roses single barrel for bourbon. For non peaty whiskey Deanston virgin oak. 😊

      Four Roses Single Barrel is one of those bottles I've loved every time I've tried it but for some unknown reason has never made it on to my whisky shelf. I really must change that! Deanston do some fantastic bottlings too - I really enjoyed their stout cask.

    An excellent list with solid rec's across the board - many of which I haven't tried! My additions for Irish are the Teeling Single Malt and Jameson Black Barrel (which you show) as solid mid-priced. The BB is such a good value for money. I also like Four Roses Small Batch as a value-priced bourbon, and I know you like FR as well. But this is just a matter of preference. That said, based on your rec I have to buy a bottle of Col Taylor - over here it's at the lower-end of expensive at $60. Alright - Merry Christmas Tom!

      Oh wow, is EH Taylor really that cheap over there?! I know some places in the US it goes for heavy overs but if you can get it at that then you must do! If you like Eagle Rare then it's just the next bolder step up IMO. I know not everyone loves it but for a big-flavour option it's my go-to right now. Cheers!

    Excellent selections there Tom. Had all the scotches (apart from the Cadenheads glenfarclas) and all are stunning. 2 for you to look out for that go under the radar somewhat are the Glasgow distillery, and Old Perth (independent blender), Excellent value and ABV too. The Glasgow masala wine cask and Old Perth Palo Cortado are both belters. Go treat yourself for Xmas Tom! 😁

      Old Perth I'm not familiar with at all so will keep an eye out! I have had the Glasgow Distillery Marsala (5 Year) and it was very nice indeed. Cheers!

    I'm enjoying your channel. I've been getting into Scotch much more lately, and have been watching Ralfy's channel also. You guys have helped me sort through a lot of options and, since it is xmas, my next buy will be the Bunn 12. I'll prob pick up the Classic Ladie after that. I was also considering the Glencadam 10 for my short list. RN I have a bottle of Aberlour 12 that I'm working through. Have a Merry Christmas.

      Cheers! I'm not familiar with the Glencadam 10 so can't sway your opinion on that one but if you like the description of the Bunnah 12 then you won't be disappointed, and the Classic Laddie is just all-round brilliant. Cheers!

      @@TheCrumbyBeard Can I ask? What would be a lightly peated whiskey that isn't extreme, but a good option to see if I like that style?

    • @TheCrumbyBeard
      @TheCrumbyBeard  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ in terms of quality, the regular Ardnamurchan AD bottling though maybe not the cheapest. Otherwise a Glen Scotia Campbeltown Harbour though it also has the Campbeltown Funk note which isn’t to everyone’s taste. Beyond that, regular old Johnnie Walkier is partly peated but isn’t to my tastes. Cheers!

    "less commonly spotted?" That was intentional, right? :D
