I watched the best and original LIVE AID and then bought the DVD of it. It was a fantastic day indeed. The song 'Do they know it's xmas time' is one song that never gets boring to me.
@@christopherpenny6083 I think Bob shouldve utilized the enromous talent he had avaialble to write a much better song. We are teh worlkd kicks is much beter adn while it may have been Bob's idea he shouldve recognized his limited writing skills adn handed it over to Bono, Edge & George Michael to write a beautiful song.
Crazy how Bob Geldof never mentions the 1989 Band Aid II version. It was #1 for 3 weeks and sold over 600,000 copies, making lots of money for the Band Aid Trust. Technically and musically, I consider the 1989 Band Aid II the best version.
I once got stuck in a lift with Bob and Paula at Gatwick airport in the very early 90s. More precisely, I got stuck with Paula and their luggage in a lift while the doors kept closing on poor old Bob's arse as he unsuccessfully attempted to squeeze in. In the end, he had to take the stairs with Tigerlily on his shoulders. He was in quite a mood by the time he arrived at the carpark, but all I could think was how dreadful the split ends were in his hair and giggle stupidly at his misfortune. Meanwhile Paula just rolled her eyes and half-smiled at us as we were jammed in the back of the lift, waiting for the doors to finally close. I see he's taking better care of his hair these days. Nice.
@@christopherpenny6083 "clearly"? Because celebrities don't have airport issues like normal people? Jesus. Having said that, it's more likely they had Pixie with them rather than Tigerlily, on reflection.
@christopherpenny6083 why is it ridiculous??? , you would think with all the bs & poverty we still have today they may try again , weird comment from you
@@cckcollins3636 no, it's ridiculous to say musicians are too greedy as a reason for it not happening. Musicians get loads of publicity and money from being part of it
@cckcollins3636 because it's been done before a number of times. There probably isn't the appetite for it. If you think artists don't make loads of money from it then I'm afraid your head may be empty 😔

@@SomethingAboutMusicbyShorey writing by committee doesn't often work either though. Geldoff wouldn't let his ego hand over the reigns
