  • The debate between Wes Huff and Billy Carson that took place on Oct. 18th 2024 on ‪@MarkMinard‬. Both Billy and Wes were notified 24hours before that we were scheduled to talk with each other, that it would be in a debate-style discussion format, and that we would be talking about Christianity and the Bible. The topic of discussion that was disclosed to all individuals involved the fact that we would be discussing Billy's public and widely dispersed criticisms and critiques regarding the Bible and Historic Christianity.
This recording is the unedited and unaltered raw footage from that interaction.

I hope Wes sees this comment. I have been an atheist that believed many of Billy's claims for my entire life. since the debate Ive been watching a lot of your content and im going to say something I have never said before. Wes has single handedly dismantled my entire world view on the Abrahamic doctrines. Not only do I realize how incorrect Ive been my entire life, I am beginning to believe the Christians may actually be right about everything. I cant believe Im saying that, but its true. Thanks Wes, for shattering my world view and setting me down on a solid foundation.

I didn't know Wes at all, and had only learned of Billy from the Terrence Howard fallout on JRE. I think I've seen Billy around as a talking head here and there. I watched Terry and Billy do a thing together, I think it must have been on Billy's "podcast" but the two of them unchecked was sheer absurdity. They both just talked about how great they are. I don't understand how anyone can be fooled by Billy. He might as well have 'conman' written on his forehead.
I wonder if Billy had any idea who he was going to be speaking to. If he had done even the most elementary amount of research, he should have run away as far as he could. As soon as the conversation started, Wes asked "What are you referring to when you say Sinai Bible?" I could already see where this was going. Especially when Billy said "...I assume it's Mt. Sinai....it's on Amazon." Wes says [paraphrasing] "So, it's called Codex Sianiticus, I have a manuscript right here. I'm a linguist and have studied it. I just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing" Billy just nods his head up and down- literally speechless.

As an observer, Billy’s attitude is so disappointing here, it’s apparent that his pride is hurt and that it’s important that he be right about a few things for the sake of his fragile pride. The fact that he calls Wes’s lifetime of study and focus on the subject at hand (which Billy purposefully deflects from) as rhetoric…says more about him than anyone else here. My inner hunch told me this guy was full of himself, this interview has solidified that. This conversation could’ve have been so much richer, if Billy’s mind was “truly” open. His reactions say everything about him, the only one needing convincing here is Billy, in his deep inner mind he is defeated and unsure.

    • @grantp3911
      @grantp3911 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Wes points out a handful of inaccuracies, that doesn't prove Billy is wrong
Explain this! Adam and Eve were created by God, according the scriptures, they were the first human creations on earth! So where did "we" come from?
Yes, Adam and Eve had children, but they were both males! Did Eve procreate with her sons so they could also have sons and daughters?
If so that would've been incest and we all know what happens when families interbreed, you get deformities and mental retardation.
Then those deformed and mentally challenged kids would have interbred with one another leading to even worse problems.
Then God destroyed everybody in a flood for their wickedness and Noah and his family boarded an ark with a male and female version of every single breed of animal on earth at that time!
Noah and his family then proceeded to reseed earth and the incest wouldve have continued.
These two biblical accounts alone, are not plausible and no amount of religious studies can dispute this, everything in recorded biblical texts is basically the same thing Billy was saying about the stories from ancient cultures like the Hopi's, the Dogon, the Aboriginies and many other cultures regarding star beings interacting with mankind, they're all stories from people of those days.
Just because you can carbon date papyrus, animal skins and copper plates doesnt mean it validates what was written on those materials, it could have all been hearsay, or stories passed from one person to another and somewhere along the line the stories get more and more imaginative and convoluted until the final person records what he was told, or records what he witnessed which doesn't mean that those individuals even understood what they we seeing or hearing.
Billy may not have some of the factual details correct but as a whole, his theory is a good one.
Religion has been an evil contruct of mankind with more murdering in the name of the church then anything else in history.
I also believe in a devine creator, and I'm highly spiritual, and I know for a fact that the devine creator wants us to be loving, do good and work on developing a pure soul so that your soul can acsend to higher levels of consciousness being.
Christianity has a very bad and dark track record of persecution and condemnation, this is not inline with the devine creator I believe in and follow
The god in biblical accounts sounds more like a fallen angel who deceived mankind into believing he was god, for all we know the god in the bible couldve have been Lucifer deceiving the masses, afterall, he did want to be god and that's why God cast him out of the heavenly realms.
Nothing in rhe bible can be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, because its all stories of a story of a story.
Live a pure compassionate loving life and your soul will be touched by God (the Devine), don't judge, condemn and crucify people because their beliefs differ from your one world view, or you will be setting your soul up for one nasty surprise when judgement gets passed at the end of your earthly lifespan.
Reading some of the comments from Christians in some of these comments shows how vile and evil some people can be.
The devine creator is not vengeful, jealous or murderous, the devine creator gave each of us free will and it's up to each of us to learn how to be more loving, kind and forgiving, so that your soul can ascend to higher levels, or you'll just come back and repeat karmic lessons in the next life until you get it right.
Billy has a good soul, you can feel it, if you don't, then its time to check your dark sinister soul and do some shadow work..

As an archaeologists and historian I want to sincerely congratulate and thank Wes for being a stellar representative of academic historical research 👏🏻 Carefully collecting, examining, analyzing and evaluating source material / data, applying systematic methodology and questioning everything, also and especially the state of the art within our own discipline, is exactly what also good so-called 'debunks' of what is rightfully called pseudoarchaeology do. It's a beauty to listen to this, and I think you've done great service here for the scientific community in times of popular anti-establishment sentiments that frequently for such wrong reasons turn against us.

It’s important to approach history with both rigor and openness, especially when pursuing a Ph.D. I understand your commitment to facts and the scientific process, but I urge you to consider that not all history is documented in writing. For many African civilizations, oral traditions were the primary means of preserving history-an invaluable resource especially given the deliberate destruction of institutions like African universities and knowledge systems during invasions and colonialism.
One major example is the Library of Alexandria, historically associated with Alexander the Great. This institution was one of the largest repositories of human knowledge, including significant contributions from African civilizations such as Kemet (ancient Egypt). Its destruction-whether by neglect, conquest, or a combination of factors-was a blow to African and global knowledge systems. Scholars such as George G. M. James in Stolen Legacy argue that much of the knowledge attributed to Greek philosophers was rooted in African teachings and traditions.
Closer to modern times, the University of Timbuktu in Mali, part of the Sankore complex, was a center of advanced learning in the 14th and 15th centuries. Colonial invasions disrupted its operations, while the burning of the Royal Archives of Asante by the British in 1874 further erased African intellectual heritage. These deliberate acts left oral history as the only surviving medium for many communities.
Oral traditions are also validated by scientific research. Take the Dogon tribe of Mali, whose oral history contains intricate knowledge of the Sirius star system. Researchers like Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen documented their advanced astronomical knowledge in the 1930s, including details about Sirius B-a star invisible to the naked eye until modern telescopes confirmed it. While interpretations remain debated, this highlights how oral traditions often preserve scientific truths overlooked by Western methodologies.
Ignoring oral traditions risks marginalizing entire cultures and their histories. Historical evidence is not limited to written records; it includes oral accounts, archaeological findings, and cultural practices. A true historian seeks to piece together all available evidence to tell a more complete story of humanity. I hope your perspective can expand to include these realities, as history is enriched when we embrace diverse ways of knowing.
I understand that you believe in what you believe in, but the problem with historians until this point in time, it has always been about believing your sciences as europeans and not looking at the world with an open mind. Be careful, not is not the time for one sidedness nore lies. That time has passed.
I appreciate this middleman he played his role well. He spoke as a christian.

It’s fascinating how much effort is put into dismissing African contributions to history and knowledge systems. To those who say oral traditions don’t count as history, let me remind you that when you deliberately destroy written records, like burning African universities and knowledge centers, you leave people no choice but to preserve their history verbally. For example, colonial invasions targeted institutions like the University of Timbuktu and even before that, Alexander the Great’s conquests led to the destruction of African knowledge systems, such as those housed in the Library of Alexandria.
And let’s not forget the Dogon tribe, whose oral traditions contain advanced knowledge of the Sirius star system, as documented by researchers like Marcel Griaule. These are not myths; they are facts that challenge your narrow view of history.
This isn’t about angels, demons, or aliens in the sky. It’s about people and the survival of their histories. Just as the New Testament justified slavery with verses like Ephesians 6:5-9, colonial powers used tools like Christianity and imperialism to erase and control. African generations continue to suffer from the begotten benefits of this system, so we watch very carefully what is said about religion and history.
Dismiss these truths if you want, but the evidence is clear-history is far more complex than just what’s written by the victors.

Why ask questions then when you get an answer change the topic and not even dive deeper into what you asked for clarity on .. billy asked all these questions, let the guy interrupt then he doesnt even stay on topic he brings up fake text to compare it to the bible we know and accept.. which tells us he doesnt even care.. then he says in other words, if God is real and knows all, slaves wouldnt exist.. so basically if God is real then there would be no evil.. which ignores free will and says Billy didnt read the bible to understand how free will is in context.. beyond that this says his idea of creator is no evil or no negative ..
Once God gave humans free will, which is as simple as a test to obey.. thats God giving room for evil. Otherwise what? Kill us? No instead allow us to REPRODUCE. But they dont even touch on that lets me know they dont read the bible nor care about that at all. They read counter points, study then. And make it a thing they can revolve a show around. Show being to attract you to their own presence .. they all feel the need to say how great they are and what they accomplished and how the person with the opposing idea is bad and a bad person . Just hearsay and down talking.

      Matthew 22:41-46
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he?
*(Jesus is asking what bloodline The Messiah would come through)*
They say unto him, The Son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 *If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?*
(Jesus is asking “How The Messiah can be the ANCESTOR and OFFSPRING of David?”)

Wes hasn't proved his point any more than Billy has-neither one of them was around during biblical times, so the idea that Wes "cooked" Billy is absolutely ridiculous. What’s really wild is seeing folks act like Wes is some divine spokesperson when it’s painfully obvious there’s malice in his heart. And let’s not ignore these so-called "followers of Christ" running around dripping with hate. If their goal is to lead anyone to Christ, they might want to rethink their strategy because this ain’t it. Honestly, these people are nothing more than white supremacists hiding behind religion to give themselves a fake moral high ground. If their intentions were truly pure, they wouldn’t be pulling the nonsense they’re pulling.
