On this segment of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, Mo Rocca speaks with Che Connon, Professor of Tissue Engineering, to learn more about 3D-printed corneas.
The cornea is the transparent part of the eye that we see through. For some with poor vision, corneal transplant may be needed to replace damaged or diseased tissue. But donor corneas can be difficult to get due to a worldwide shortage. Connon hopes to remedy that with his tissue-engineered cornea.
