Great Video Man, very informative and has help me allot….. can you search Woodbridge VA to Little Rock Arkansas and Woodbridge VA to West Monroe Louisiana and back to Woodbridge VA pls… thanks Man.
When you say scratch out living in Texas , are you meaning like just do loads in Texas but I would have to do like 4-5 loads a week to actually make some money ?
Yup, it won’t be good pay but the miles should be pretty low to help balance it out a lot Texas is not a good place for flatbed never has been never will be. But there’s a little money to be had running around inside The state , it’s getting out iwhere the rates take a bad nose dive. Simple supply and demand Texas doesn’t export they import
I just found your channel and I have a few questions for you. I currently work on a oil rig and have been saving and planning on buying a 2018-2019 tmc truck in the next few months cash, but I was wondering if I would be able to lease onto crst with no experience and being 23? And what would be some advice you would give a new owner operator/new driver ?
@@keondricadair9210 as far as the advice I have about 250 videos of advice😂😂 but the top 3 always are and always will be # 1 DO NOT get into trucking for the money. There are better ways to trade your time for money in other skilled trades and you’ll make more hour per hour, if there isn’t something about trucks and something about the open road that calls to you, go do something else you’ll thank me later… # 2 be a student of the game and do your research ….in my opinion. You’re probably not ready. I wouldn’t even try becoming an owner operator until you have 5 years in the game doing what you plan to do (dry Van flatbed tanker, etc..) make your mistake somewhere else in somebody else’s truck so it doesn’t put you out of business before you even really get going, and during those five years research research research!!! watch videos, read books on business ETC.. #3 last, but certainly not least you Must have a minimum of $20,000 in reserves at all times as an owner operator or your as good as dead, it is by far the single biggest reason 8 out of 10 owner operators fail within the first two years, and the single biggest reason owner operators fail period, Even after they’ve been in business for years…. And to the best of my knowledge, but you should call recruiting to confirm, I don’t believe they will take you with no experience at least not on the flatbed side. I’m pretty sure you have to have two years minimum experience and six months of that has to be flatbed. Or two years experience and pay for the training course for flatbed. Best wishes my friend
Yes, and no, they only take a percentage of the linehaul. You get 100% of the fuel surcharge…. the rate you see on the board includes the fuel surcharge.
Not really and it’s not necessary, our agents work on commission so the more they get you the more they make they’re not like brokers they don’t get to take any money away from the total ,they get a flat rate so they’ve already squeezed the customer for as much as they can get without losing it to another carrier
Can’t do dry Van I don’t have access to that load board, they’re running about two dollars a mile to just under two dollars a mile to you drive and doesn’t pay good never has never will
@sturgelltruckingllc4074 so if I go to CRST it would probably better to do flatbed ? I've done it once before but the tarps they had at that company where big pool tarps weighing 150lbs and I had to lift them onto all my loads near felt my back give out a lot , how much do the tarps there weigh. I'm in the process of joining them
@@ReborneGamingMusic you will always make more money pulling a flatbed then you will a trailer with doors on it,the big tarps way a little over 100 pounds but you choose your loads🤷♂️
@sturgelltruckingllc4074 yeah I know flat bed always pays a little more, i just hate live loads and live unloads lol , when I tried flat bedding before every time I picked up a load it took then 5+ hours to load me the unloading was quick most the time
good 4 u! i hope i can be a capable testimony 4 u some day!!
