- I found this beautiful pot in a back room clearance section. Regularly $100 marked down to $25. I couldn't resist - I thought it would make a cool lamp to go in our small cottage home near the beach. This pot could have been dressed up to look more elegant but I chose a more casual look with a burlap barrel shaped shade.
Hope you enjoy and are inspired to make your own lamp from interesting objects.

Exactly what i lookin for!!
Beautiful song
I will download it, and thank you for the video, great looking lamp!
Very helpful but stopped at the point where the wiring goes through to the bulb holder - this is missed out - and so important.
Wow that turned out beautifully!
Thank you for sharing, I'm trying to do that too, let's see how mine ends up.
Thanks for going through the effort to share this!
That's a beautiful lamp
perfect!
One suggestion: a bigger (lower on Vase) shade would look better because it would cover your "hardware" . This way only the vase itself would be visible at eye-level. (Just an FYI). The Height of the Shade needs to be > the height of the 'Shade holder' (I can't remember the name of the thing, sorry) I'll look it up and append later.
A couple of key words, in focus.
Hi! That is a beautiful song in a background! Would you be able to share a name of it please? :)
How to make a lamp in two easy steps.
Step 1. Have husband.
Step 2. Ask husband to make you a lamp.
😂
All joking aside, this video was incredibly helpful and showed me exactly what I needed to convert my clay pot into a lamp. Thank you so much. 💕
I need my glasses.
That music is putting me to sleep. lol. Anyway, I love the look of the lamp, great video! But how do you find the right lamp shade that will fit the parts in the make a lamp kit? I want to do this, but I noticed when I went to the store that there are several different types of lamp shades with the wiring in the middle being different. I'm just a little confused on what type to get?
Hi :) any basic lamp shade will fit the lamp kit. they are all pretty much standard sizes. Good luck with your lamp :)
Thankyou for posting - this too is my Big Problem - so many fittings and so many sizes. I've started with a big glass dimpled vase, I've got some nice vintage style braided flex and an idea from this video of how to make a bung out of wood - and there it ends when it comes to the electrical fittings. I've comes to the conclusion its plain trial and error.
It's called a HARP
this is an instructional video on how not to make an instructional video
And yet it’s very informational. lol
Unfortunate the video focus is terrible.
