Here for the Dir En Grey support. My favorite band. 👀

Thanks for showing Shinya (the drummer) some love! Often people think of Shinya as a mediocre drummer. Great reaction, again! I love how much you feel the music.

It’s a heart felt song that I enjoy from them

One of the things I've always loved about Diru is that you can clearly hear the mastery of each instrument in every song, it's not just a mush of noise. You're the first reactor I've seen that's mentioned it ❤

Short and sweet, right? It is a song you can't go wrong with. There are many songs going other routes, may they be crazy or ballad-like, but these are solid starters imo.
A solid starter would also be Diabolos live, although this time it is more into heavier metal (with some progressive flavor).
If you are looking forward to more progressive by them this one and especially Macabre live are good picks but Diabolos being way heavier.
A song that will 100% be to your liking is DIFFERENT SENSE live.
Hey, I hope you will have as much fun as I did starting getting into their music (btw, now they'll visit Europe next year and me being from Germany / Spain makes me really happy to be able to go to their concert for the first time.

That's awesome man, you definitely gotta go see em. Someone else recommended Macabre, so maybe I will go with that next. If you say Different Sense, that will be soon too! And yeah getting into this band is awesome. I love the music so far that I've reacted to on this channel, but there is something "organic" about Dir en grey that is just super intriguing.

Live versions of Vanitas & Ware Yami Tote are 🔥 soft songs. If you like heavy, there’s a live version of “karma” with a red thumbnail, very brutal.

I’m sure you’ve also had recommendations for Vinsuhka( Live Eng Sub version). That’s one of their best songs & performances!

I like everything unless is too soft like no edge at all, just like piano and singing or something but otherwise I will listen. Thank you for the reccomends!

@@Inscription880 Ou, Dir en grey manage to make a song with just piano and vocals be one of the heaviest things you'll ever hear. You don't believe me? I dare you to listen to Agitated Screams of Maggots unplugged XD. I would so love to finally see someone react to that one. Here we go with a link: th-cam.com/video/VsjIcKO1HuM/w-d-xo.html
[best piano-vocal battle ever :D] I'm so hyped just thinking about this - you would make the entire month of December for me if you were to react to this. Dir en grey actually have a few very very cool piano versions of songs. This one and Red Soil are my favorites. I am very sure that you would vibe with those even though there is no other instrument involved.

"They all kinda do their own thing"
You have no idea. That's basically the ethos of the band. They literally don't talk to one another, even in studio. All of their songs go through multiple iterations before being finalized because they're all clashing against one another, sometimes they release that stuff too.
Dead serious though, this band has been together for three decades and none of the members even know one another's last names, their phone numbers, or where they live. The whole thing is absolutely wild.

  • @pointlesswasteoftime

Diru do their own thing. There was an interview I saw before a live stream, the interviewer said something along the lines of "so the family can sit around and everyone can enjoy Dir en grey" (thanks to the livestream.)and Kyo said, very quietly, "we're not a band everyone will enjoy".
As a musician, an artist, that was massively inspiring. They do their own things, and they know it's not for everyone, but it's about staying true to their art.
    Love this band.
A bit of a request, if you want, check out some of my stuff. I'm very post something apparently. You might enjoy it. Start with Rubbish, and maybe Not Dead. A reaction would help me massively... I'm disabled, neurologically, physically, and mentally with no prognosis of recovery. Music is what I force myself to do to stay (in) sane... I don't have income or a bank account and all I gain is a tiny flow on from any viewers, I'm not monetised, and likely won't ever be... It's really just to get listeners. Other reaction channels won't help me unless I pay them 100 bucks.
I just finished a concept album which I wrote, recorded, played all the instruments, and made the videos... My brother told me today I have to get it out there... So yeah...
You don't have to, but it'd help me a lot.
So yeah... Rubbish, (instrumental and the first music I recorded after ten years of illnesses), Not Dead (alt something), and Voice of the Dead (post black metal) are solid...

I'll do you a solid. I don't have a huge following but let me get about 100 more subs.. then I'll check out rubbish. I'll do it for a 300 sub special feature. I just previewed it and it's sounds awesome from what I heard. As a fellow starving musician I will absolutely showcase it.

      Dir En Grey
      Sukekiyo
Petit Brabancon(This is a super group where every member is from different bands. Most are in their 30s or 40s)
You'll definitely enjoy petit. Sukekiyo is more on softer and more experimental.

"hes got a good voice sometimes" 😂😂😂 had to laugh at that comment. I think its cause he goes with emotions over technicality when performing live. also this song is a bit older so yeah theres a certain style to it in terms of genre. great reaction!

  • @passio-735
    @passio-735 ปีที่แล้ว

It's surprising for me that people consider this one of their heavier songs because I see this more as one of their rock songs ^^'? I mean the ending is awesome and I like the song overall a LOT but it's just not one I would put into the category of heavier songs.
Your take on the drums is spot on. I love Shinya's drumming by now but when I was young and dumb and before I started playing myself I just thought he wasn't THAT good although his style fitted the band well. Now I know, he creates that style - in a way probably more prominently than the guitars and bass do. He is genius with his hands and there is so much creativity and theatrical energy in the way he composes and plays it's something that is pretty unique to have in a drummer. He most certainly isn't the most technical/skilled individual which I think is mostly due to the fact that he is not in the least interested in playing certain styles so he doesn't waste any energy to learn them ^^' That might sound strange for a musician because I think in today's metal scene people constantly try to out best others [and themselves] and become masters of their craft. But while he does learn new things for each record it's always within the terms of...what does that song need from the drums and how can I achieve that feeling with the abilities I have and can learn in the amount of time I have before putting them on the road and not f*** up - there are a few interviews regarding their latest album Phalaris were Shinya talks about the economy of drumming in this album which is more complex than anything they've done yet and how that translated to his live experience. Very interesting stuff. Again, thank you for takng the time and taking us with you you on this journey!

    -Macabre
    -World of Mercy
    -Diabolos
    -Scadenfreude
    -Vinushka (live if you will)
    -Zetsuentai
    -Karasu (2011 version)
    -The blossoming beelzebub
    Anyway all are better live.
