Yet still- the part where you said you were getting goosebumps gets me every single time. The whole second act of this performance will never not choke me up. I don't believe it's an exaggeration to say that this specific performance was a once-in-a-lifetime audio-visual experience. 😤👌 Kyo is surely one of the greatest vocalists alive today.

This was one of the first lives I watched of them, after listening to studio recordings of their singles for a while. Even though it's one of their best, I found soooo many other performances and songs that I enjoyed just as much, so watching the best first didn't spoil it. One of my favourite bands now.

Although the vocals, lyrics and visuals are powerful you also pointed out the drums and the set up he has which is really cool. The drummer has changed his set up over the years, he said part of why he put the 2 chinas up the top like that was because it looks cool haha.

Dir en Grey love to keep the meaning of their songs vague and open for interpretation. Kyo sings almost entirely in metaphors. Even the name of the band itself is intentionally vague and meaningless. It's 3 different words from 3 different languages (Dir is German, en is French, Grey is English). The meaning of the Japanese translation of the three words together was "Grey Silver Coin" which...still means nothing lol. So in short: if you're confused by anything that's the point.
