- This beautiful old piece of machinery was unearthed here in the California desert. Who knows how long it's been unused and buried in the sand, but I knew I could get it back to working order. Nice to finally have a matching blower on my restored Buffalo Forge Coal pan.

Love how the numbering turned out...and your face!
Was totally thinking, “That’s not a HTR wrench he’s using”
@@hateboy Check those last few shots, I had the standard and mini HTR wrenches for the mount bolts ; )
Love your face
Evaporust strikes again!

Best footage for cameo of Mr. Hand Tool Rescue.
100% true
Wow! Great work. Great video.
Thank you!
You have got the best music for the videos that I have ever heard. It’s impressive!
Thank you very much!
I second that. It elevates your vids so much 🙏
Thank you very much as always Alex. I hope you enjoy my brand of “cooking” ; )
The numbering solution is fantastic! 😈
Thank you sir! Not too shabby!
I was fortunate to be able to get this blower and a Buffalo forge #651 a number of years ago for a total of $15. Great piece of forging equipment!
Perfect fit for your shop. Glad you were able to rescue another piece of old American iron.
Thank you sir!
Great idea creating the numbers with wire and attaching them with JB Weld. I also never thought about using a foam brush to apply spray paint. Nice restoration! Thanks for sharing.
It works really well for hitting the "high spots" while having just enough give to lay down paint.
Nice job, no messing about, just functional workmanship.
And Eric gets a mention too.
What's not to like?
Thank ye!
Blower turned out great, Numbering looks factory. Great job as usual.
Thank you
I just got myself an old Champion 400 blower, and wanted to watch some resto videos for inspiration. And this was the first one I watched. Beautiful video mate. :-)
Well hot damn
Beautiful! Love the use of JB Weld and wire to make raised lettering.
Thank you! Suggestion came straight from Eric, although I though up the steel wire ; )
Just picked up a 14 inch Buffalo 200 Silent blower today for a song. It works, but it’s rusty as. Watching this video set a fire under me, gonna get it apart tonight.
Heck yeah!
This is going to enhance your forge so nicely. And if you ever have to I will bet you can figure out a way to convert it to electric if needed.one of the best video makers out there. Thank you Brett.
Yeah! Will be an easy conversion if I ever decide to switch to electric!
The beauty of the desert.? Is it keeps old metal alive for many years..
It sure does
Don'tcha just love BLACK & GOLD? Looking gorgeous Cap!
The best combo ; )
Truly beautiful result!
What a marvelously satisfying process. How awesome that you literally dug this out of the desert and now it's all set to go.
Right? Half buried in sand... yowza
A fantastic restoration of a beautiful tool!
Thank you Peter!
Awesome and crusty, thank you Brett !
Just the way I like it!
Oh yes Cap!! Beautiful restoration!
Thank you!!!
The way you made the 666 numbers and how well they turned out is exactly your style. Creatively thought out with a nice attention to detail and you just stick the landing. Well done 👍
Thank you! Alas, all the judges gave me a 10 except for the Canadian
If JT has a volunteer fire department Brett should be fire chief
Love everything about this. So glad you decided to include the handle/mounting and the numbers look perfect, almost as if that's what the original font would be!
Thank you sir! I'm well proud of this one and how it turned out.
Love this so much. What a perfect item to bring back to its home. I have so many “antique decorations” that are now in service in the shop. Well done Brett.
Thank you brother
I love how you find and reuse these old tools and equipment. They definitely don’t make them like they used to! So much of what we make now is designed to fall apart, but it’s great to see you bucking that trend!
❤️❤️❤️
We do our best!
Loved seeing the inner workings!! Beautiful work Brett!!
Thank you lady!
The numbers look amazing! May it bring heats as hot as hell 🔥🔥🔥
I sure hope so!
Brett, I'm not sure where to start- this is one of my favorite videos from you ever. Thank you for continuing to make and share, that coal forge is a work of art.
Well heck....that's super kind of you Jay. Thank you very much brother.
Brilliant work!
Thank ye!
The brass fasteners really class this up! Great job Brett
I totally agree
Is there anything you can't do?? I discovered your channel last week and have binged most of your videos and all I can say is WOW, you are not afraid to try anything!! Only one thing I haven't seen you do and I'm going to give you a challenge! Make DINNER! Rules: 1) only one pan or pot can be used, 2) you must make or restore your pan/pot and cooking utensils. 3) Must be cooked in the shop using one of your forges 4) dinner for 2. Good Luck Cap!
I wish I could hit the like button and subscribe button more than once. So good, your evolution in making, film production and sound editing are all progressing with each new video. You can will achieve what you want to on this platform, zero doubt.
Very kind words, and much appreciated. Cheers Mike!

fantastic video Brett, I feel inspired to go find something rusty and unrustify it!
Thank you NMB!
Thanks for this video I believe this is the blower & forge I acquired a little over a week ago. It’s a buffalo forge & blower but it doesn’t have all the accessories. I currently have the blower soaking so I can tear into it..thank you for this video.
Right on
That was excellent!
Thank ye!
Extraordinary!
Thank you!
What an awesome restoration......great job.
Thank you Patrick!
Killer find, video, and restoration!
Thank you brother
There is something so absolutely gratifying about putting old iron back to work. So simply yet solidly made. Bury a modern cordless drill in the dirt for a month much less years and it'll be shot. I'm continually impressed by your will to bring these old pieces back to life. Excellent work sir!!!
Thank you Brian! Very kind of you
Great resto Brett, that looks amazing
Thank you Graham!

Vibratory Motivation = Groovin' to the Beat
Aye
Fine results! There seems to be an advantage to the desert, the rust only can go so far. The new numbering looks great, like it was always there.
It definitely helps that the general humidity is so darn low. Any time I find rusted nonsense out here, I have to remember that it's not near as bad as the Northeast.
Those final few shots were inspired man.
I really appreciate that brother
WOW Cap’n!!!
Now this touched my heart!!!
Well done, everything was perfectly put together!
Loved the music, your editing the whole content Cap’n!!!
❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤤💥👊🏼
Thank you very much Fiesta Canine!

Great video bud! Your attention to detail is always awesome to watch. The finished product turned out sick!
Thank you Arod!
Wow... what a beautiful transformation 😮😭😍 And the finesse in which you took that apart was super satisfying 👌🏼 Excellent vid, Cap!
Thank you so much Marylou. Much love to you and ghost
Nice job man! Glad you could find some replacement square nuts.
McMaster Carr to the rescue!
It never ceases to amaze me how Brett turns the functional parts of his work into works of art. The forge fan mount might have been rough and square but no, precise angles and beautiful curves. Brett, you are an incredible craftsman. Thank you very much for your work. At the moment I do not have the resources to support you on patreon but I hope my situation improves soon and I will support you without a doubt.
Greetings from Chile.
I really appreciate the kind words my brother. Much love
Wow! Very impressive video production and craftsmanship! You went way beyond most other restorations by blacksmithing your own replacement handle and making your own custom stand. The only thing that surprised me was the use of shiny new hex bolts. In my view, those shiny new hex bolts clash (according to my taste) with the rest of it. This doesn't detract anything from the quality of your work -- you did an amazing job! Well done and thanks for sharing!
Thanks paul
Bravo maestro !.
Thank you!
You navigated your way through that one quite nicely Captain.
Thank ye Jim!
Another great restoration. Looking forward to the next one. Then a shop tour to see it all in action.
Thank you Sir!
