Also, listen to the way she worded it. She said they ask her where she’s from how two white people ask each other that question and one person says oh, Ireland, but born here. And the next guy says, I’m Italian, and German.
I’m Native American and always get followed around and stereotyped whenever I walk into Walmart. This one time I confronted an employee and she started telling me that I won’t end up anywhere for stealing, I wasn’t even stealing I was just shopping like a normal customer tfff😒
This sounds like she was in fact caught showing signs of theft and was shown leniency and compassion by someone who cares for her future. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as store ettiquette regardless of what race you are.
There are Blacks from other cultures that come to the Dakotas for job opportunities and to visit, in North Dakota there is a Haitian population, so being questioned where she is from is not exactly racist. I'm a road traveler, and sometimes I'm asked where I'm from. I'm a brother from SC, btw.
The locals probably aren't asking other white people where they're REALLY from. I'm guessing tone plays a large part too, however, we'll never know how these things were said.
@Bella N Being from SC, I was raised in NYC, worked there for 20 years, and I was always asked where I was from, being that NYC is a melting pot of cultures. I'm an AA, and people still thought l was Nigerian, Dominican, Ghanaian, Haitian, etc, but I was never offended. In fact, I liked to see the surprise when I told them I'm originally Southern. I don't have a Southern accent and I have a conservative look, so I understood why people were curious about me.
I’m AA. I live in California and I’m asked where I’m from all the time. I can’t speak on her personal experience living there but I can imagine how it would be a culture shock for her.
@@GReid-ol5gk It's not racist to ask someone where they're from. I've literally never heard anyone ask that question in a derogatory manner. I have however had black friends who saw racism around every corner, and typically it was just a product of their paranoia. For my part, I'm fucking sick of talking about race. People are different colors. Get over it.
She seems a little entitled. My Mother was a single working Mother never once got rewarded by any community not even the one she was a teacher in for 40 years and she was a Native American so I don't see anything different with this woman. But if you all need a plaque hung on the wall for all your hard work. I personally think my mother needs a statue of her at the school she taught children at but all she might get is a gravestone. So don't let your right hand know what your left is doing. Just live the best you can.

Because the mayor have agreed to take on different cultures of people yes she's not addressing the main issues How come every culture in South Dakota keep their traditions and black Americans have been here that the mayor do not allow the black Americans to come together and create our own cultures gatherings in any park without the city approval
