Thanks Very much, your strip and soldering iron t bar worked enough for me, I got the milage showing again in full, which was my main requirement, the clock and distance counter are still not fully showing, but I am sure that was down to not having an exact line up on the strips on my part before heat gluing, however at least I will be able to sell the car now with the milage showing which was main requirement. So I would fully recomend this cheap fix. Removing the unit is fairly easy and can be looked up on the net. I cleaned the old glue off the carbon pads using a cotton wool bud and nail polish remover and used a credit card for the lcd glass. A tip to others doing this fix is to take a photo of the dials before you remove them and dont screw the panels back on the car until you have checked the speedo calibration after refixing them, I didnt take a photo and had to remove the unit and speedo needle and re-fix it a few times to get it back to 0 at a stand. First time was at +10mph second time -10mph, 3rd time I got it right. Again the fault was on me. This is well Worth a go for a fairly compitent diy er. I am pleased with the result. Worst case you may need a couple of strips incase first one not quite correctly aligned.
I'm about to purchase a VW Fox that has this problem. How much is the part? How much would it be for the part and to have it fixed. I couldn't do this myself....
Hello buddy! I did fix that myself but now the speedo doesn’t show the correct speed and the rev doesn’t work at all! What’s the trick to calibrate the speedo? At what position I should put the dials? Thx in advance
Warning light to show that front lights are switched on, light alerting overheating of the motor. If I good understand, it’s not incandescent buble but led directly soldered on the circuit board... Thanks

Warning light to show that front lights are switched on, light alerting overheating of the motor.

Yes, correct, SMD LED soldered to the board, cheers
