@Jose Stickman 60's and 70's. When I played in high school in the 90's none of these would have been called. We had football players on our team breaking sticks by hitting guys. Our defense played with crooked arrow sticks. 6' solid wooden sticks, us middies cringed during practice. Those sticks hurt like hell.
@Jose Stickman maybe, im not sure when they implemented the hands together/cross check rule but the fact that he broke his own stick shows why that rule was put in.
he got a bad wrap for that hit. yeah it was late and he took his hand off of the stick for the hit but it was not that bad. the UNC hit in the mud that is also in this video was much worse.
I played lacrosse for years, had wooden and titanium sticks broken over my shoulders all the way down to the elbow. It only hurts really bad elbow and below.
I have a guy on my highschool team now that breaks a stick almost every game. We were playing this one team that likes to cut inside really deep for a wicked pads and shot. He slid to the guy and broke his stick in two on the dudes chest. He didn't cut inside for the rest of the game
So the basic rules to follow for a legal are 1.) Hands together and on your stick 2.) Opponent must be within 5 yards of the ball 3.) Must the player square in the chest 4.)Cannot get more than a 5 yard running start 5.) Cannot hit opponent in the head Although in college lacrosse, they are more lenient with the physicality of play
Jaxson Galbreath Those are the rules for field lacrosse. If you wanna see some even crazier lacrosse hits, check out box lacrosse hits. Cross checking is legal, hell anything is legal really
That first one was as textbook as it gets. That is so difficult. There's a lot of accidental high contact, that needs to be considered when handing out unreleasable penalties
That’s going to be out after I make videos for all the LSMs I want to cover, not sure exactly when that is but I will be making a lot of videos for SSDMs
I played lax from 2007 to 2017. In my time most of these hits wouldve been perfectly fine. While i understand protecting players safety its gotten kind of soft
Here’s an idea; try wearing the chinstrap on the helmet properly so it doesn’t come off the instant you get hit. Might also be nice if they required shoulder pads so the refs don’t throw flags for clean hits to chest area just because the opponent is hurt because they refuse to wear pads
@@jamesonmacdonald5615 from the official US lacrosse website "All players, with the exception of the goalkeeper, must wear shoulder pads. Arm pads are required and rib pads are strongly recommended, and often required, as are athletic supporters and protective cups for all players."
I got you. So you can hit anyone with your stick anywhere except the helmet and lower legs. But body checking wise, it's more up to the refs I mean blind people. Also you can't cross check.
If pushing with your hands to follow up make sure they are together on your stick. Do not target the head and do not take a run at a defenseless player. About half of these hits are totally legal and should not have a flag thrown. Most teams who are considered skilled will not go for the body unless it's on a late slide to try and prevent a goal or if someone is deliberately delaying the game by hovering over a ground ball. Basically, don't hit anyone in the head and don't get a running start on someone who isn't moving and has their head down. Hope you enjoy the game. I played through HS and College and it is the best sport in world imo.
Way back in the day my friend going for a ground ball broke the femur of an opposing player. Total freak accident. He dropped his shoulder as the guy planted his leg. He said it sounded like a gunshot.
these are all good clean hits but I gotta say having played box (primarily) and some field box hist are more spectacular like yard sale guy having a nap uncounsious type hits. I also am not saying that is good since it is just a sport not a "War on the floor" but the hits are bigger and badder.
You know it was a big hit when Quint goes “OOOOOH” on the broadcast
Hahahha either that or a yard sale
The first one isnt even bug bruh
Syracuse is ruthless
Syracuse and Virginia will lay you out is what we've learned
Thx I’m a cuse fan
@@lukewysocki2191 yessir cuse is home
Dearth played at our town High School
Ofc they are
Hate it when good hits get flagged

Put time stamps for the good hits that were penalties

Jose Stickman boomer? Artistic and profilic? You’re stuck in past old man move on
I've been thinking about joining a lacrosse league seeing this just made my decision thank the guy who made this
That's why I do this, you're gonna love playing. I appreciate it
You'll love it!
Same
Ryan Wagner you should join it. It really is the best sport
it’s a great sport
Syracuse is all over this list!!!!!
Sammyc Gaming NY and PA have some of the most vicious Lax players
cause they r douche bags
gman 26 don’t hate on Syracuse
Sammyc Gaming when you let a football school have lacrosse benefits
A lot of these hits are illegal and reckless
That first naticoke hit 🔥 put him in his place
Always better when the ball carrier lays down the hammer.
Never not gonna enjoy that bomberry hit.
Two mountains literally colliding⛰⛰
he got a bad wrap for that hit. yeah it was late and he took his hand off of the stick for the hit but it was not that bad. the UNC hit in the mud that is also in this video was much worse.
jack waters is ugly
1:01 when the hitter breaks their stick on impact, you KNOW it has to hurt a lot

First time ive watched anything lacrosse. Figured i might as well as it is my country’s national sport. So far im enjoying it.
What on earth was that mud pit in the John Hopkins game at 3:10?
Watching Tehoka getting laid out is by far the most satisfying thing
Rob Skardinski there’s just something about him I just don’t like

Love your channel💯
Thanks! I genuinely appreciate it
So satisfying to watch
Love watching Bomberry and the Cuse' crew light em' up!
That mud in Hopkins v NC is mad!
See now these are hits, thank you B
What’s with the giant dirt pool at 3:00
2:59, that field is torn, what field is that
Love the vid you should do a highlights (overall like o d and face off) of the “mud bowl” this year that hop and I think unc was in
syracuse kicks ass. i went to college there. i went to HS close to Yorktown. cuse recruits heavily from them. insane program
That syricuse notre dame game was absolutely brutal
2:30 he lost a bit of his soul
Need some jack rowlett highlights!
I always thought that LaCrosse rules, in a hockey arena, on ice/ice skates would be a big hitting and exciting game.
Oh Christ, they'd kill each other.
Lacrosse on ice, that would be speedball levels of violence and death.
Second also thanks for making the video
whos the senior from shawnee
That first one was as textbook as it gets. That is so difficult. There's a lot of accidental high contact, that needs to be considered when handing out unreleasable penalties
*No Brads or Chads were harmed in the making of this video*
Did Virginia and Syracuse play 50% more games in the 2019 season than any other team or something?
No they just got the big hitters
This is sick!
4:08 I was at this game. Really cool to watch the championship live in Philly.
I play both football and lacrosse and all though I like football more, lacrosse is just so fun to play.
Where is the uva hit against Syracuse?
Ahhh, I think you’re referencing the hit from Tyson Bomberry on Conrad. I honestly missed that one. I’m an idiot hahha
Lacrosse Analytics I think there was another with Kennedy involved.
@@LacrosseAnalytics Greco against Kennedy at the midline....the biggest hit of the year by far. Great video though.
I don’t know lacrosse well at all can some explain why 6:04 was a penalty
Great vid homie 😈
So to hit someone in lacrosse you have to have your hands together?
By the letter of the law, yes
Unless you lead with your shoulder
Were are my goalies at
Nothing beats the UNC Hopkins mud bowl
The first hit is so clean. Pure rubber.
3:37 UNC a DI school with that bad of a field I understand theres weather involved but UNC is known to have a bad field
Who’s field is that really muddy one
Robert Perkins I think it’s Johns Hopkins field
This looks like our practices when the freshman get ripped on 😂
1:29 got pushed and slapped on the legs by the stick😂
Wow. Bill Simmons is right. This sport looks great.
2:52 Attempted murder lmao, rocked him in the head. Surprised none of the Hopkins players jumped his ass to protect their teammate
This comment made me chuckle
dont even watch laccrose or however u spell it bcs im from australia but this was pretty entertaining
As a former hockey player who knows nothing about lax. Is every hit a penalty?
Is this the same as high school lacrosse
In terms of what? Hit legality?
Best D-mid play video??
That’s going to be out after I make videos for all the LSMs I want to cover, not sure exactly when that is but I will be making a lot of videos for SSDMs
Any other hockey fans who don’t watch lacrosse watch this and get hella confused by all the penalties? These all seemed like good hits
I have played hockey forever, started lacrosse freshman year and I still can't figure out the hitting rules 4 years later.
I played lax from 2007 to 2017. In my time most of these hits wouldve been perfectly fine. While i understand protecting players safety its gotten kind of soft
So if you touch a player it’s a flag?
Who else was at the 2019 Philadelphia final four tournament
You ever play rugby
Ye it's like this is warmup
Sadly where I’m from, lacrosse and rugby are in the same season so I couldn’t :/
@@LacrosseAnalytics you should it's a beautiful game as is lacrosse
So you can lay people out if you have two hands on your stick? I imagine you have to be clearly going for the ball (?)
4:20 For sure if you play lacrosse thats happened to you before, Ik its happened to me.
Here’s an idea; try wearing the chinstrap on the helmet properly so it doesn’t come off the instant you get hit. Might also be nice if they required shoulder pads so the refs don’t throw flags for clean hits to chest area just because the opponent is hurt because they refuse to wear pads
they do require shoulder pads, not sure what you're talking about

Some refs call hits just because it looks big it’s so stupid they think just because the person hit falls it’s illegal
The fact that there are penalties for these hits make the game look soft
A good amount of these have head contact which even the "hardest" sports dont allow.
Why is Syracuse in all of these 🤣
5:30 THOOOO THE SLAM
Bigger hits than the no fun league with less padding
0:54 is called a hospital pass in football and baseball. Cranked indeed
3:14 paralyzed as heck
I think they add crowd noise in the broadcast cuz nobody watches lacrosse
DaddyLongHead haha Lotta people starting to watch
Bro the penn state Loyola one the guy picked up his stick after he trucked him
These are the biggest hits. I see a lot of shoulder checks and not hits. Plus why is almost every hit a penalty?
When turner upprgren came out of the crease and threw a body🙀🙀
Syracuse bangs bro
Interesting to see how flag only fly after decent pause when injury is noticed. Pretty sure that’s not how penalties work
Slashing penalties: “Am I a joke to you?”
Way back in the day my friend going for a ground ball broke the femur of an opposing player. Total freak accident. He dropped his shoulder as the guy planted his leg. He said it sounded like a gunshot.
We’re these all illegal?
You should do a hockey and lacrosse comparison it makes lacrosse look like a child’s sport
Ah, this reminds me of my 3-4 tournament days
2:50 North Carolina should've fired their head groundskeeper, because the state of that field was absolutely disgraceful.
0:37 was such a ward lol
Awesome
So wait if both hands are on your stick you can ray Lewis someone????
4:19 Thats tough
The ACC is definitely the be lacrosse conference
That Syracuse team must have a bunch of former football players on it
Try hockey boys no hate I love the sport but look at hockey’s biggest hits ❤️
.0:40, a ward should have been called.
As a guy that doesn't know the sport well, at 2:01 or so, why can you just like openly wail someone in the back with your stick or lacrosse piece
I have invented Eighty-Four sports games in different styles of games and take into account the safety of players 🤗
3:02 that feild is horrendous
... Welp they ain’t soft over hear either, moving in to cricket
Cricket isn’t soft either, Rock hard balls coming at your head 140 km/ph / 90 m/ph
Bruh look at the grass at UNC vs Hopkins

I was at the Yale v Virginia NCAA final championship game and I saw that hit HOLY SHIT I thought the kid got knocked out!
GO SYRACUSE!!!🍊🍊🍊
23 on Hopkins really isn't doing much to convince us that 13 doesn't equal 55+
Do best saves
It's on the list
My how times have changed. 15 years ago not even half of those hits would have been penalties
it doesn't look that big of a hit until they go instant replay
In the Norte dame, Virginia game the guys helmet fell off
He was trying to look cool and wasn't wearing his helmet properly.
