- On Feb. 5, 2024, Syracuse Lacrosse defeated Colgate, 18-10, in an extremely physical game at the JMA Wireless Dome. The two teams combined for 19 penalties, including five unnecessary roughness calls. The most egregious foul came late in the second quarter, when a Colgate player tackled a Syracuse player by the neck.

Been there done that.... Tough game to control with out dictating. Officiating the game has never been harder. Crazy tech., bigger stronger faster kids, rules designed for safety in a contact sport, entitlement and ignorance out of fans...... Hats off to all the lax stripes, they earning it.
I know some of these hits are pretty violent but as a former player, I wish more games were like this lol

I think the refs threw slashing out of rule book after the first quarter. Too many worse penalties to deal with throughout the game.
I gotta believe there was some sort of pre-existing beef between the teams. I don't think I've seen a game at that level that was just undisguised head-hunting. They were trying to fuck each other up

There were some clean hits that shouldn’t have been called… but seems like the refs needed to manage the game before it elevated
More control over the stick work early game would have mitigated the chippiness.

That choke slam might have been the most obvious penalty I’ve ever seen in the sport, even fist fights don’t break as many rules as that did
Watch it again in slow mo. He came at the kid with two hands on his stick attempting to push him out from just above hips when his lower hand slips off of his stick. His right hand keeps the momentum going and it slides right up to the attackman's neck. It was never meant to be a high hit or one handed. Shit happens. It looked blatant, but it wasn't imo.

Most physical game of FIELD lacrosse maybe, there’s bantam box lacrosse games with more physically then this though 😂
Box is for pussies who are too weak and un athletic to run through a long pole. The goalies are a complete embarrassment to the position with all that bulky equipment they wear-most wouldn’t last a single practice in a field lax crease. Box can be useful for offseason skill work but all the top players play field for a reason.
They make these helmets summer looking every year

#27 takes a 5 minute nap on the field, then gets up and flaps his arms like a bird. Get up and jog off the field if you've got that much energy.
the one minute at the end with 2 sec left sums up the game. Zebras earned their coin on this one!
Lohman should be suspended. An intentional tackle with an arm around the neck is unquestionably worthy of a suspension.

my middle school team was mostly made up of football players in the off season. we may have sucked, but let’s just say there was only one game *without* injury stoppage
11 minutes to go in the fourth quarter and the announcer says the game is starting to get a little out of hand......the referees lost control of that game long before that!!

I don’t understand all the flags. Some of those were just hits. The wrap up one was completely out of line but I don’t understand the others.

Alot of these are just a bigger guy hit a smaller guy which is fine, then more were stick on stick, then 3 maybe egregious hits.
syracuse has been the dirtiest team for years. About time someone held them accountable and played down at their level

Fr most of the hits from them weren't legal
Cuse were swinging their sticks and hitting nothing but body. Lot of slashes that could've and should've been called on cuse. That hit at 00:44 seconds was clearly a cross check.

Some definitely weren't flags but I think the refs were just desperately trying to maintain some semblance of order.
Syracuse is fast and big there not coming into the dome to push us around durning walk around they were walking around the dome like they owned the place because they beat pen state sorry but not sorry!!!

It seems like the refs called way too many penalties on Colgate and didn’t call the same penalties on Syracuse. Number 2 for Syracuse should have got a flag for following the dude to the box jawing at him. The dudes hand slipped off the bottom of his stick making it look way worse than what it was. Syracuse acted like a bunch of poor sports.
Defending a choke slam and saying the mouthing off after should be penalized is insane
@@Alex-hd3gq his bottom hand clearly slips off his stick when he goes for the check and his momentum continues forward into the other player. I’m not saying it’s not a penalty I’m saying everyone’s acting like he did that on purpose when obviously he didn’t
