The lyrics of Sancta Terra are written by Epica lead singer Simone, it's a dark theme. It's about a suicide bomber who thinks he is in heaven but he actually ended up in hell. They did one more song together on this Epica Retrospect live show. The show lasted for 3 hours...take a look at Unleashed, Design your Universe and The Divine Conspiracy and the other song they did with Floor Jansen Stabat Mater Dolorosa. This is not an Epica song though but a 13th century hymn.
These two are some of the best singers alive. Mark Jansen (no relation) the guitar player was with Floor in After Forever and left to be the founder of Epica. Floor and Simone are old friends, having lived together years ago.

Sadly, we can't get a whole album of Simone/Floor collaborations, but there is this band called Nocturna that has two female vocalists, one singing in an opera style, one singing in a rock style, and they're symphonic metal too! You might want to check it out. I think they only have one album so far. Their video for "New Evil" could be good for a reaction. If you don't like the songs, there are some beautiful gothy outfits!
You must do next song of the show - "Design Your Universe". It`s f..g amazing and even better but without Floor. This is essence of symphonic metal genre name. Do it asap. It`s one of two their best songs to me. Another is one of the heavier "Kongdom of Heaven" (Mexico live).

They really are the two most "show-offy" vocalists in metal...and there's nothing wrong with that. Metal has always been about guitarists and drummers showing off; why not the vocalists also, now that metal finally has singers on a par with the musicians?
