You kinda do know there is gonna be something but you cant tell what exactly it is. So yeah basically you prepare to do some beat killing but it might still not be accurate because the music plays more or less notes.
@@phanjacky2418 it is obvious that not all of them are the same but globally if it is given that the rhythm has a repetitive pattern and that is how rap, hiphop, funk and G-funk beats are generally performed. and the dancers know how to read that part of the songs. and especially the dancers who have been competing for a long time, and from what I see popin c knew the song and green also knows it at least the 1st round and in the 2nd I think not but the song had no changes it was quite flat, I think That green in this competition was more carefree and was more aware of performing tricks than musicalizing his movements, which is what poppin c did without neglecting that the 2 round of popin C maintained a good level regularity.

Again those things happen at very specific times that any good popper knows but they might not know how specifically this change is done. So yeah a lot of times they can just start with something random and then react super fast to act it out for maybe 70 percent of it. But someone who actually knows the song really well will hit it fully.
One dancer is doing set moves the other is getting down. Greentek got that. No disrespect but there's a clear difference in flow. Flow and essence comes first over any prechoreographed move that is not true in the moment. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

William Leprohon Watters art is subjective. Groove? No I think C put his moves together very nicely, obviously has a lot of songs memorized, but natural groove shows in the transitions. Greens transitions show that his groove is under all of his movements and ideas. I couldn't disagree more with that, to me its moves vs groove and moves. Green had both.

While I agree with you J-Rock, and my preference would be for Greenteck in these rounds. I think you can give it to Popping C because he just execute everything he set out to do. He hit all the karaoke moments he knew in the songs and they were well timed. So I think in a scenario like that you can pat em on the back, say you accomplished every thing you set out to do in the beginning of the round and say you win this battle. But to dive a little deeper. Tell me if you agree. Overall stylistically, Popping C is curious to me. When he's just getting down he does a lot these strong looking movements because his shoulders are in like a tense (strong man) position. So it rarely looks gracefully when doing things, although he's a coordinated guy. I think I prefer the moments when he does recognizable style moves. Like in the 2nd round with his scarecrows and one-legged neck-o-flex
Greentek only lost cause he didn't know the songs like Poppin C did. Popping scene isn't about musicality anymore - it's about memorization. That's why the battle scene is skewed and unfair. It's not about dancing. It's about studying and listening to hours of music. A seasoned dancer could easily lose to an up and coming dancer simply because the newer dancer "freaked more beats". It's dumb.
mix these 2 and you have the perfect popper. Greentek can dance/flow/grove/soul like no other. Poppin c HITS those pops so dang hard. great creativity "story" by poppin c. Greens pops are like stutters. blah. C has little flow/feel compared to green. Each should take note of each other. lol.

That same I have fixed the last years poppin C to much evolved and is always bringing new steps and I believe the same this years poppin C will win many competitions.
Poppin C hit the quadruple drums with his right hand first when Green was dancing and again twice when he was dancing. That goes to show the highly pre-rehearsed nature of his dancing.
At first i was leaning towards poppin c but a second look at the video, and i realized he repeated a few significant moves in each round. Greenteck for me, but because his second round.

Dancing "to" the music is very common nowadays. Guys are more focused on purely moves and playing karaoke with dancing to the music. Dancing "with" the music is basically letting the music guide your dancing. As someone who creates music, when a person makes song they have a certain vibe and feeling they are trying to portray. Greenteck seems to get it almost always. He connects with the music. Just as Emad Gholam said. It's hard to describe but easy to see. To understand what I am saying better, go watch "Popping 2vs2 prelims Temps and Greenteck @Vilnius Street Battle 2016" video here on youtube. You will see greenteck bring the music to life. Very hard to do and very rare tbh.
To be honest I see that you say this for Poppin C didn't use much Groove. Greenteck is a harder Popper and I respect the hell out of me, but with all my sincerity, he escaped a bit of music. Poppin C in this battle was much better than the Greenteck, we must admit this. Poppin C was much more technical, expressive and had greater musicality that Greenteck. Greenteck, was good because it was much more creative, this for you, makes you say that the Green had the advantage of winning, but not, Poppin C won this battle.

Popping C is everything I wished greenteck woudve become instead Green has went to a crazy slouching dance style with to much motion in between hits and seems to forget what he's doing then goes straight into tutting . IMO C won both rounds convincingly.
