It's certainly poignant, but hardly a story. A woman was raped and killed, her lover avenged her and then he was caught and burned alive next to her with her still defiled, dead body in full display for him and the crowd that watched them both burn in a grand pyre. That's _incredible_ imagery, but sounds like a single event, not a full story.
"I was no dark knight, breaking men like ice. I was like a lycanthrope until the moon glazed over." Can we just all fucking clap to those amazing lyrics with that heavy-ass guitar riff?!
Dani's lyrics and use of mythology is incredible. English fire is what got me into mythology. The story work combined with the vocals and music just blows my mind.
This song is a masterpiece, Cradle have a unique touch when it comes to make hard and fast song that yet have a peaceful and beautiful aura. Love this band so much.
Yeah, I can see it in the lyrics and feel like it's not a hard leap to make. He even says "her ghost in the fog" in the lyrics. I was wondering if there was a specific place it was mentioned that this is meant as a sequel though or if it was just putting the pieces together.
So my understanding of this is after "Her Ghost In The Fog" the man whose lover was defiled by the churchmen who he then burned went and attempted suicide at her grave, but survived the attempt, was captured by the villagers and burned alive with his wife's corpse displayed naked next to him in the pyre?
Not quite so. He was captured (looks like there was cardinal involved, judging by crimson robes of office) and put behind bars, waing to be burned with her corpse. Then "Sisters of the Mist" happened.
Dawn discovered Her there Beneath the Cedar's stare Silk dress torn, Her raven hair Flown to gown Her beauty bared Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood "Never to part Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts" Then this I screamed: "Come back to Me I was born in love with thee So why should fate stand in between?"
lesser known fact i taked with the voice on omegle for over an hour till i got spaz as ans still dont know his name. who cares amazing man fun to joke. didnt give a real fuk lol
exactly, if only this guy backed up his comment more i'd understand him clearly. but i don't get how this isn't a masterpiece. the instrumentals are nice, along with the vocals and melodies mixed together.. not to mention the lyrics, those are the best part in my opinion
@@louisdepointedulac3072 Both of you have serious problem with understanding what you read. I was talking about the PRODUCTION. The song alone is great i dont know why i wrote its "ok, not bad. not great"...
Her Ghost in the fog and Swansong for a Raven together is THEE best story told in metal history hands fucking down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except he wasn't burned. See "Sisters of the mist" for the final part.
@@2yoyoyo1Unpluggedbut it is a full story, listen to Her Ghost in the Fog, Swansong for a Raven and then Sisters of the Mist.

I'm just not clapping, I'm also praising it wholeheartedly.
Just magnificent
Always one of the highlights, if not THE highlight of the track for me.

Give Damnation and a Day a listen. It gets a lot of hate but I love that album front to back.
This song is a masterpiece, Cradle have a unique touch when it comes to make hard and fast song that yet have a peaceful and beautiful aura. Love this band so much.
This song is a beautiful masterpiece I can play it over & over & never get boring. Always something new to learn in Dani's songs...
Lesser known fact about this song, this song was written as a sequel to Her Ghost in the Fog.
Where did you learn that?
Dani said it a few times. If you read the lyrics to each you can see it's a continuation of the story of "Clarissa".
Yeah, I can see it in the lyrics and feel like it's not a hard leap to make. He even says "her ghost in the fog" in the lyrics. I was wondering if there was a specific place it was mentioned that this is meant as a sequel though or if it was just putting the pieces together.

Clarissa i miss you. Clarisssssaaaa.NOoooooooo
Castlevania Boss Rush music
It was this one
Guys... I think Clarissa might be dead
Dawn discovered Her there
Beneath the Cedar's stare
Silk dress torn, Her raven hair
Flown to gown Her beauty bared
Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost
I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer
She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood
"Never to part
Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts"
Then this I screamed:
"Come back to Me
I was born in love with thee
So why should fate stand in between?"
I do not have any background of Christianity.. can anyone please tell me who was Clarissa???
Clarissa was the lover, the woman from Her ghost in the fog, this is the sequel
lesser known fact i taked with the voice on omegle for over an hour till i got spaz as ans still dont know his name. who cares
amazing man fun to joke. didnt give a real fuk lol
i know yous dont so dont bother
Song is ok, not bad, not great. The problem is production. So sterile and generic it hurts.
How is this generic, there's literally nothing like it.
