Excellent video. If this repair needed to be done a second time is the glue/epoxy that you used also a heat release type setup? Or would a second repair be a huge pain?
When using belt sander to remove the spr do you leave the rivet in the remaining panel and drill the holes next to it or do you remove the remaining and some how try to drill for the blind rivet in the same spot ?
@@kpb711 so you don’t remove the old other half of the rivet? Or do you have to drill all the way thru and remove the old one completely? Also do you just put in SPR or can I just put in blind rivets?
@@sidehustlegarage4399 did you get the new bedside yet ? They have the instructions with them kinda but they tell you what blind rivets to get I think I tried to put new rivet's where the old spr were not
@@sidehustlegarage4399 Not exactly, but I did spend some time looking into it online. I haven't read the Ford procedure, but I'm sure buck rivets will work fine where there is access to the backside. aircraft-tool.com has a lot of the tools and rivets as well as a rivet cutter, so one length of rivet can be purchased for all positions/thicknesses. I'm wondering if the rivets Kyle used in the tailgate aperture are flush mount rivets. Other than completing assembling/riveting before glue cures, I doubt the rivets are very critical on a bonded panels.
Nice Rivet guns! The battery powered blind rivet gun probably costs a fortune and don't talk about the blind rivet gun!

Are the non-pop rivets buck rivets like used on aircraft. Could they be bucked without that expensive crimper?
