„Landscapefotography shouldn‘t be something that disappoints us!“ - great … Thank you ever so much, Alister, for this video, especially for the beautiful photos you presented from Canada.
Had a great time with you and Adam. Appreciate your perspective of making photos and learned a lot, and got my mojo going with the ICM we did. Thanks... 🙂
I really enjoyed your photos of the lone tree with the blurred water reflections. It would have been interesting if you had taken a shot at a faster shutter speed to show the contrast between the two.
"more chilled than a tuna steak on ice," Now that's chilled. Living in the PNW I especially liked the image at 9:30. Certainly agree with your assessment of photographing what catches your eye. Glad you enjoyed your time on Vancouver Island.
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to a location but was very disappointed that it did not live up to what I expected. At first I wanted to leave but then I got smart and thought, I'm here, why not just hit the reset button and see what I can find. I ended up having a great time exploring and trying to create something. I have watched enough Expressive Photography videos to know that you influenced my decision to stay so Thank You.
F8&be there said T.Heaton . I think you influenced him in your last meeting. 😀 I would probably have had a lot of trouble photographing this small tree. The subject is so obvious that it could capture all the attention. That's the difficulty for me, to photograph a predominant subject. I would probably have come out of the forest like you, I understand you well. New Office but new clothes , it seems that the place is a little colder ? Enjoy life, I know you will.
It was a great running into you and Adam at Fairy Lake. Nice to see the different versions of the tree you got there. I can’t go by the area without stopping to check out conditions and try for something new. Thanks for always putting out great content.
Love that tree! When I was there the forecast said fog, but of course there wasn’t, just gray and blah. A short time later a bit of light came out and a little breeze blew across the lake. Moral of the story, it wasn’t what I wanted, but it was different. After letting it marinate I liked it quite a bit. Great video and always a valuable message. Thanks!!
Thanks Barb, yeah it’s always tough, especially when you’ve travelled a long way and are only there for a couple of days. I think I’ve been there over a dozen times, so it’s inevitable that the more you go the more likely to get “hot” conditions
I enjoyed all your images and it’s wonderful to see this little tree in different ways. Quite a celebrity it is! And then there is this awesome forest scene - marvellous! Having been in a very big city for a few days, I realized how different it is, being out making images in nature. Leaning into the background noise that only comes from the wind or the water or the birds. Nurturing! Just being out there is always worth it - the images are an add on, but the experience counts. Don’t put away your bins! It must be wonderful to just be able to look out of the window during a work break and take it all in. Your office looks pretty comfortable already!
Thanks so very much. I’m so in love with here. I was out birding for 5 hours this morning - just walking from the house around a nature reserve and out to the coast ❤️ we’re so happy
That was a very good video…. Instructive and entertaining with my morning cup of Costa Rican coffee 😂. I love all of the images. I was hoping that you were going to show the last one (4x5) as a long pano. That long horizontal was intriguing. Congratulations on your new home!
Hi Alister. Do you have a contact at Kase filters that could resolve a problem I have had for the last 3 months with filters falling off, The "cutomer service" have told me that I am "using them wrong" and that if I buy a new lens cap for a different filter range it will stop the filters from falling off, happy to forward the e-mails to prove this. The problem is with the lens hood adapter but cannot get to speak to anyone to resolve it. Have spent over 900€ on filters I cannot use efficiently. Regards Gary
@@Alister_Benn I live in Portugal, bought from Germany but cannot contact anyone at Kase directly, only reaching outsourced people who cannot understand or actually achieve a resolution. At this moment I need someone to understand the problem, which country sends the replacements can be sorted later, it's very frustrating . . . .thanks Alister
Really helpful insights, Alister. As always, I learn so much from each of your videos. Thanks so much, Tom

Looking forward to seeing some of your takes on locations that Adam has taken you all to. Thanks for a constructive viewpoint.

Lovely images and thoughtful commentary. Looks like you stole Uncle Grumpy's hat!
Haha, it was a gift 😂

Thanks buddy, the new hat is courtesy of Adam’s wonderful partner Karin ❤️ yes, it is colder
Thank You! Learning with you is a great experience- you keep me going! Many Blessings in your new home.
You are so welcome

Great to meet you too, every day is an opportunity to see something new, even if it is somewhere we have been many times.

@@Alister_Benn well that’s it then. I have to go back! 😁😛
Sounds like a plan ❤
Thanks for sharing those wonderful images. I do hope to join you and Adam in the Rockies.
Thanks so much for that. Yeah, hopefully Adam will have that trip planned out in the next couple of weeks.

It feels that way for sure

Thanks mate, I appreciate that. So many images still to come ❤️
Just wondering if you have a long lens for the wildlife, pitty to waste the experience.
I didn’t have a long kens in Canada, but I have just bought one for over here.
