I have a suggestion for you to use those strawberry tops to avoid wasting them - put them in a jar of water and stash it in the fridge. In a couple of hours you will have strawberry infused water (kind of like the posh water you get in spa's)... It tastes lovely but is better if you have some fresh mint or basil to add to the water as well.

Honestly believe that a poor work/life balance leads to illness. If you think of your daily energy as a glass of water, once you’ve poured it out (spent it on work etc) the glass is empty with nothing left for home. The danger is that you keep pouring out water that you don’t have. Don’t rush back to the 100mph you were at before, you’re still recovering. Take care of you x

I have his meat free, vegan and green cookery books but there are a few meat ones too. Great recipes - most are for individual portions and they use easy-to-get ingredients that don't hang around in your cupboard forever! 🤣 Glad to see you're on the mend, please take it easy though, don't do too much too soon! 😺

Rinse with vinegar solution: Soak strawberries in a vinegar solution (one-part white vinegar and three parts water) for a few minutes. Then drain them, pat them dry, and place them on a clean paper towel in a glass container. Loosely place the lid on and store in the refrigerator. Take care xx
Your looking so much better. Your pasta looked delicious. I made a tomato onion sauce with pasta tonight and put two small chillies in that I grew myself on my allotment. The chillies from the greenhouse were called basket of fire 🔥 and oh they were tiny but mighty hot 🥵
Good to see to you better again. Please don't overdo it even when you feel fully well. I made that mistake, went back to my stressful job and was struck down by a second chest infection within a month. Ended up signed off work for 2 months. My favourite budget pasta dish atm is pasta and frozen broccoli cooked in the same pan. Once cooked and drained I 'mash' the broccoli a bit and add a bit cheese. Wee bit like a cheat's pesto but tasty and filling 🙂

My tip for a pasta bake, boil some penne until it’s slightly cooked, pan fry some meatballs sometimes I add onion n garlic to the pan to then transfer it to a baking dish, then add your pasta and some italian mixed dried herbs or whatever herbs u have in the garden, then poor over a tin of chopped toms salt n pepper and top with grated cheese then bake in the oven until the cheese is nice n crispy. I can only eat a small portion as it’s very filling so u could use it for meal planning.
A good thing to do is make your own granola mix oats with honey or maple syrup and add mixed seeds and nuts or dried fruit and then cook in the oven for 10 mins. Leave to cool and put it in a container.You can add this to yoghurt and porridge. Also make up ginger, orange or lemon with turmeric. You could freeze them and take them when you need them. Yeah go in the sun every day and roll up your sleeves for 20 mins without suncream or ground yourself by taking off your socks and walking in the grass or concrete. Apparently we are putting on too much sun cream. A good way is get the tomatoes and add salt and pepper with oil and garlic and roast them and add to the pasta. You could make some chicken noodle soup as well. Add vegetables, stock the bones of the chicken and stock then add your noodles and some chopped onions or spring onions.

Couldn’t you have thickened up the first pasta if too watery? Maybe pour off the water and then add more grated cheese? Would hopefully have tasted good. Glad to see you looking better. My cat is also Jack and yes… sometimes I call him beanie. Gotta love our boys 🐈⬛😂

My doc has had me on vit d for years no matter how long I am outside my body just doesn't seem to process it. Call me nuts but I would've dug through that pasta and rescued the chicken!

Glad ur getting better lady r we ate getting worse here me and annabelle in bed all day and now i cant sleep. Even had to cancel my hospital appointment tommorrow i mean what ??? However my consultant will.ring me to check in and they will probably want me to get my blood work done later in the week just to be safe . Every morning i get up open all the windows air the bedrooms and go out with the dogs fed them put out any washing and take a few minutes just being in the fresh air. Then i come in sort my meds put the coffee machine on brush and mop the kitchen floor and back hallway and then phone mum and check my to do list and usually a hour and a half later its breakfast time usually greek yougurt with honey some chopped strawberries cherries and watermelon topped with cashews and oats for a little chrunch . I even have this during winter although alternate between that and toast or pancakes when its really wintery its hot wettabix or shredded wheat. I know you love your porridge but i just cannot seem to like it. Anyhow i am going to have to try to get some sleep and i am sure tommorrow will be a better one lady p over and out ox

Yes👍 I gather all my strawberry tops in the freezer then infuse them to make a tea when I fancy something refreshing
They are great to freeze and add to smoothies too
Or in vinegar for salad dressings!
Or buy a huller for a couple of quid and then the only waste is the leaves.
❤ I heard last year that spending 15 minutes first thing in the morning in the fresh air & sun is really positive for your vitamin D & mental health.
