so recently as my main party finishes the dungeon they have been in for about 2 months now (long dungeon setting, above ground parts), they finish and exited out on top of a plateau that is right below the cloud line. Am posing for your consideration an ambience of said locale. I described it as a vast sweep of flat terrain on a carved mountain the clouds gently rolling along the stone as snow leaves only a thin layer, the wind is quiet as you look over the precipice to see all that lay below you, the mighty ruins and the lone castle all small and faint below you, no bird comes up here but the wind does sing as it rises along the walls of this mighty mountain.
wow dude, you are one of best ambience creators on youtube, sad you dont have subscribers and views that you deserve... hope in time they will grow, love how wide range and unique ambiences you come up with ideas :) good luck and keep them coming.
This ambience sounds really nice for venturing through some active mines, i like the sound of the steps the most. It fits to a number of "styles" of walking as in just strolling down the mine or climbing some ramp made of gravel and stuff or some semi-sneaky careful wandering through a maze-like mine. A few minor things i didnt like that much was that the pickaxe sound so high-pitched, like a lil precision-focused tool, not like a tool made to break some heavy rocks. Another thing is that the pickaxe and the shovel and stuff always came from the same direction and the same distance, which is confusing, since at least in my ears the steps indicated a moving listener while the nonchanging direction and distance of the workers indicate a standing listener... I dont know how effective that would be, but maybe let the volume of the tools change relatively to the rest? I dont really know how to do the direction thing though... Overall i still think its a great ambience once again (even if my critism doesnt sound like that). P.S.: Maybe as a general idea, what do you think about having a lil time period at the beginning and the end where the sounds fades? That would make the change between ambiences or the repeat of the same a little more smoothly.
Thanks a lot for your comment. Never hesitate to critique my work, I never take it personally, I really want to improve the quality as much as possible. Also you've been very respectful :) About what you said : the pickaxe, shovel and another tool (I don't remember which) were one single audio file, so I couldn't edit only one of them, it's like a 2min loop. Also just fyi, I have to say it's historically accurate, since one single miner could only mine around 2m^3 of rock in a 8h day. They didn't move a lot and broke several pickaxes in the same day.
@@MichaelGhelfiStudios The moving thing wasnt directed at the miner since i thought we, the people listening to the ambience, werent one of the miners, but an adventurer going through some mines, which would lead to us moving around. And if we move around the sound of a not-moving person should change, since we increase/decrease our distance between us and the miner and might even turn around some corners or turn around which should also change the direction the sound comes from, from our perspective at least. Edit: About the volume thing, i dont think you have to change the volume of each tool separately, changing the volume of the loop should do the trick just as well.
Hey, I have a particular request. I am running a campaign with plant zombies, and I wanted an ambiance similar to the haunted greenhouse one, though I wanted it to sound more active. Basically the plant zombies would have already overrun an island, and the ambiance would be a swarming hive of vines and low groans, similar to the Gravemind level from Halo 3. Anyways I appreciate all your work, you're fantastic at what you do! Thanks.
Thank you for asking! I don't think I will create it tbh, because it's too close to what I've already done. If you really need it, you may consider ask for a commission.
Me fellow miners. May the Lord protect you and bring you back safely. Now go in search of gold and gems with the cathedral of steel and stone. And may the white women not get to you. Glückauf!

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep
In hollow halls beneath the fells
Excellent! Thank you for that video and sound. Now I can let it go in the background while working and forget about the real world :D

Fucking amazing. I love this theme.
Now all it needs are some dwarven voices (maybe some shouting or singing) to complete that whole dwarven mining motif. ;)
This is what I hear when I enter a bandit hideout in Skyrim

I'm pretty sure it already is. Did you check ?
Would it be ok to use this in a song?
You need to purchase a license, as explained in our conditions of use

Can I use this audio in my videos?
Please watch my video called "Using my creations : conditions". It explains everything.
Is it looped at 30 sec or 2 minutes?
30 minutes and it's perfectly seamless.

'HI HO HI HO...'
or
'i am a dwarf and i'm digging a hole'
being sung ;D
