    Going through a sketchbook is really like going through a diary, all you memories and thoughts get absorbed into the paper. I look back in my sketchbooks and I remember all my moods and find my writing on what I was doing. I put in movie tickets and things that in the moment feel insignificant but looking back Im glad that I get to remember thing I thought I would forget.

      so true! I recently went through my finished sketchbook and was quite surprised how much meaning the pieces held to me in retrospect as well ^^

    im not sure if youll ever read this but i wanted to let you know that you have been my biggest inspiration to me as an artist. I have been following you since i was 13 years old, im 18 now. :) i had lost my passion for art a few years ago and got extremely burnt out and stopped altogether, but seeing you come back to youtube has inspired me beyond my comprehension and ive begun to start drawing and creating again.

    27:51 I did that too... And till do if I get triggered. I sat in the tub once with water running over me and I was crying and couldn't top, so I deliberately thought of a grown up version of me taking care of me, stroking my skin, hugging me tight. And I spoke soft words and comforted myself. It works, my flashback are less intense, they aren't as frequent and the episodes are much shorter. Im honestly my own best comfort❤️

    Serveral years ago I tattooed my thumb like yours. I don’t know what it means to you but for me it’s a affirmation in ink-you can do this, and a constant reminder of the beauty I’ve seen through your art. You are truly one of my biggest inspirations of all time.

    This was wonderful and so chill to watch. I think I liked the pieces about your experience with PCOS and the one with the house and revisiting childhood, those really stood out to me. I love how you fill up pages, and I love all the little things you stuck in! Seeing your sketchbooks (even from years ago too) inspired me to keep a travel sketchbook (when travel was still a thing), so thanks for that, I really treasure those books of my own. I'm so happy to watch your videos again, keep it up and don't feel any pressure to be perfect. Stuff like this is awesome. Take care

    I just wanted to let you know how much you have helped me. When I discovered your first sketchbook tour years ago I was in a bad place mentally but your art inspired me so much. Thanks to your videos and post I actually took my art more seriously and started improving it (and also my mental state). I can't describe how happy I was to see you post videos again! Although, I don't really know you I am sure you are such a nice person and I hope you are doing great! Keep on making amazing art!!

    I had budgies before and we had their cages open all day long so they could go in and out as they pleased! There's also these harnesses that you can get for birds to take them outside so they can fly around without you having to worry they'll go too far, etc. There's definitely a lot of ways to have birds as pets without having to trap them in cages

    • @AudraAuclair
      @AudraAuclair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I ever got another animal it'd be a birb so that eases my mind. I think I would just have to make sure I had the space and would have to train it to fly to the cage to use the bathroom and all that good stuff. I saw that some people have been using (enclosed) strollers for their birds which is pretty cool.

    • @seiashun
      @seiashun 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AudraAuclair Small birds are pretty tough to potty train, but tbh their poops are super ez to just wipe up so that was never a big issue! Birbs are really wonderful pets ;v ;

    Hey Audra, I just wanted to tell you that ypur sketchbooks are my main inspiration right now, BECAUSE they are so dull of your personnal experience and scrappy (if that's a word) and it shows that you don't hold back from just experimenting with different materials, and I love that. I'm a devoted sketchbook-tourist binge-watcher (I've probably watched 200+ sketchbook videos until now) and yours are reeeeally THE-BEST I've discovered to this day. So, if you happen to read this, I hope you know that there are people amazed by your art and your courage with pushing through your mental and physical issues :)
    And I hope you have a wonderful day !

    I find your voice/stories and your art so soothing to listen to and see. Because it's a lengthy video, I've watched this video several times as my "background noise" while I crochet or draw and it always gives me positive vibes and inspiration. Thank you for sharing your work, I know it probably isn't easy to manage social media with everything else you do, but it's appreciated! Your work is beautiful, comforting, and inspiring.

    Truly loving this feel of just chillin as you go through sketchbooks. The hangout vibe is much needed in these times, much MUCH needed. And you've always had this kind of energy that has me thinkin' "It would be a blast to hang with this hooman bean. Man, are they cool." You've always been inspiring through both your art and your words. Like, I know that every time I pull up one of your videos, I'm gonna be pulling out my sketchbook. And I have you to thank as one of the people that encouraged me that I can be a friggin artist. So... thanks for inviting us to hang with you while you flip through the fantabulous drawings and show us all your beauteous personality. SO much love for you and your creative goodness.

    Your creativity is just so gorgeous and its so inspiring to see! With many artists that are very skilled and popular I just start to compare myself and feel bad about my own work/lose motivation but with you I just feel driven to become better because you’re really down to earth and your art isn’t just what any algorithm likes. Its so appealing because its so real and so personal and thats why its so inspiring to me I think.

    I went on an art hiatus for 6 years, had my passion taken from me and found my way back during the first lockdown in March (I live in Ontario). I started my first sketchbook last year and I recently had an epiphany to spend more time leaning into my feelings to help myself cope with anxiety. Seeing the way you express yourself via your sketchbooks is incredibly inspiring and how loose you are with each spread lights a fire for me to allow myself to breathe myself into my sketchbooks. I don’t know if that makes any sense but thank you for sharing this with us, your work is stunning 💕

    seeing your sketchbooks has definitely been inspiring for me to revisit mine! i've hit a big slump with my art this past year, partly from burnout from my last year of art school, partly from a new living situation, losing all my work I made throughout college during a move, and just general issues with depression and mental health : / it's been super rough trying to get back into the groove of making things again, and I really relate to that feeling of dread you were mentioning when taking on/committing to big projects. I know I am technically capable of doing these projects, but my brain is like "no you can't!! it's going to be late and that will reflect poorly on you as a professional illustrator!" so that's been a tough hurdle to get over. It's also just a rough time to be entering the professional world, let alone the creative professional world, during a pandemic, so I've been trying to be kind to myself amongst all this and give myself time to form other hobbies and pursue things I enjoy. I didn't have a lot of time to do that when I was in school, and I think I've been having a hard time knowing what art I want to make because of that lack of fulfillment.
    I'm so glad to see you back on youtube again, and it gives me hope that I will eventually be able to get back into my work as well, even if some time has passed.

    Hey Audra and Lopi !✨ I'm usually of the silent community of youtube (also not speaking english very well sorry if my sentences sound weird ! ) , but i wanted to leave a comment today as i was watching this video for the second time already to communicate my appreciation so here we go ♥ Audra I've been following your art channel for years, back when i was in art school I learned so much from you, going through each of your videos several times and as far as i can remember you've always been my biggest inspiration as an artist, your art is so unique and full of emotions, you're very skillfull and also a wonderful human being. You're also my fav youtuber, i think i can speak for many of your viewers if i say we feel safe and well watching your vids. I have this weird strong bond you only have with your very favs youtubers , when you feel like they're almost family and I haven't found artists who are as honest on their yt channels as you, talking about very important subjects that we need to hear about to know we're not alone, and i'm so glad to have discovered your channel for that as well. I was so so happy to see your new videos lately, i even caught myself singing a little jingle song thing when i was about to watch one ^-^ it goes like this : "Yay It's Audra ! ♪ i love her so much ~ ♪ " ! So you're appreciated, i wish you the very best, and i'll always be here to watch your videos ♥

I'm so glad the videos have been making you happy, that makes me excited to make more. I hope to continue making stuff that you enjoy. If there's ever anything you'd like to see me make let me know, I'm always looking for ideas. Take care of yourself and thank you so much for following along.

    The sketchbook with the Polaroid photos was amazing! I really hope that you will continue to work on that!
    All of your sketchbooks were awesome but I just really liked the concept and layout of the one with the Polaroid 💜

    This filled me with so much joy! Totally jazzed to go sketch and explore. I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts on various sketch books, because you use a lot of the same mediums I do and sketch books can be so hit and miss!!!

    Love the idea of collecting the stamps - also love the layout and composition of your sketchbook, and of course the awesome art too. Thanks for sharing. Love watching sketchbook tours even tho good ones like this kind of make my sketchbook look like it was completed by a 7 year old
