  • The Flying Elephants" is a silent comedy that takes place in the Stone Age. In this primitive setting, the King of the cave people issues a decree that all males between the ages of 13 and 99 must find a female mate or face banishment. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, in their iconic roles, are among those affected by this decree.
Hardy begins his search for a wife, and in a humorous scene, he exclaims, "Anyone's will do!" However, he repeatedly gets clubbed on the head by annoyed "husbands" who are already married. Eventually, Hardy finds an available girl, but he is unaware that his friend Laurel also intends to marry her.
As both Laurel and Hardy compete for the affections of the same girl, their rivalry leads to a series of comedic contests and mishaps. Laurel tries to lead Hardy to the top of a mountain with the intention of pushing him off, but his plan fails, and it's a goat that rams Hardy over the cliff instead. This allows Laurel to pursue the girl.
"The Flying Elephants" is a classic Laurel and Hardy comedy known for its slapstick humor and physical comedy gags. It's a humorous take on the challenges of courtship and rivalry in a prehistoric setting.
