In case people didn't know, Ross was going to be Dave and voice the chipmunks, but they were urged by the studio to get younger actors. I think they did the best they could have given the circumstances.
exactly im also 14 love the chipmunks lately been checking out episodes online also have a few dvd's of the old cartoon i do have chipmunk adventure found it at a walmart and automatically bought it and i don't see why its so bad that i still love my old cartoon favourite even though they stopped making new episodes before i was born :/ still best cartoon i'll ever see in my opinion
I agree that the 80's chipmunks were better, but I understand where Ross and Janice are coming from. They need to get the new generation interested in Chipmunks to keep them alive. It would've been great if they'd stuck with a cartoon, but kids nowadays are into live-action CGI technology. I do, however think they went a little overboard on the hip-hop stuff. Don't get me wrong, hip-hop isn't terrible, but the Chipmunks are, and always will be, The Boys of Rock and Roll.
I love the chipmunks and the chipettes there so funny I love em Brittany and Alvin are my fav ones cause they seem like they are more cool and adventurest hard to explain but I love them I'm so glad that they didn't stop doing it when Ross bagdasarian sr died though I wasn't alive I was born in the 21 century but I've seen the old episodes movies specials and same with the new ones but I love them so bad 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
agreed, by far the worst offender was Jason Lee as Dave. He pretty much was going through the motions and then collecting the pay check at the end cause I didn't feel it.
I watched this movie and I didn't fully believe in Simon as the Simon that I grew up with in the 80s. I was disappointed in that aspect but I also had a hard time buying into the chipmunks NOT being 3 feet tall which is how I remember them for decades. Finally didn't fully feel Jason Lee as Dave. At least going off of how I remember Dave from the original Christmas (hula hoop), alvins harmonica and witch doctor songs along with how Dave was in the animated series.
I'm sorry, Ross and Janice, I always loved Alvin and the Chipmunks growing up, but the 2007 movie horrified me. The worst part of the film was Jason Lee. His voice is grating, his "ALVIIIIN" is wrong, and he's just not Dave. Always loved Ross Bagdasarian Jr. as Dave, and the Chipmunks.
my son prefers michael & mel as betty book and bimbo in that betty boots hollywood mystery almost 30 years ago over this then being for mr mcmahon showing compassion in the late 90's with his son shane at once cause of the global supercard wrestling on espn classic that still lives on at&t uverse

I kinda miss his voice acting I guess he was old to play in the new movies when he yells in the new ones it's not the same
