- This video came to me today. I have been a Smart car owner for over 4 years and never knew how to reset my trip computer. I then also gave it a little thought as to if people actually knew what all the icons were on the dashboard.. there isn't a temperature gauge on my display etc etc.
I put this together rather rapidly and hope people find it of some benefit.

@@smarte.r.1450 hey. I actually changed them the other day. Not that difficult if you've got the right tools.. access is a bit of a pain but you get used to the angles after a bit..👍
It only have a light for the motor temperature?
No gauge for it?

You’ll probably be better off changing the complete unit ... they can be cleaned but fiddly and not sure if that’s legal to be completely frank as it may contravene safety specifications

I am sorry you didn’t find this useful. I’ll take note of the audio quality in future. I would say though this is the ONLY comment about the audio being so poor it was not helpful. The intro music though…. It’s awful 😢 however 12k views not that many 👎. Hope you find what you need though. Have a great weekend
Sorry if this is a dumb question - I'm new to smart cars. Your video is making me feel it's more normal but want to double check - when I turn the ignition on all the warning lights pop up, and then go off. But the oil and engine light stays on longer than the others, as they do in this video. But they're not on while driving etc. I just want to check that it's normal, or if it is a pre-warning that something needs looking at? Thanks!
Hi. It’s just a start up diagnostic process if they stay on.... clearly it’s then time to investigate further with an OBD READER or call your breakdown provider. 😉. Definitely NOT a dumb question.

Smart E.R. I am having problems with my turn signal bulb blowing out all the time. I change it and it will blow out in a few weeks. It's my left turn signal. Any ideas as why this is happening? Thanks

1 buy a GOOD QUALITY bulb not the cheapest.
2 check for ANY moisture in the light cluster unit (does it dog or most?)
3 is it front or rear?
4 Is yours a cabriolet?

Done a bit more digging. If you aren’t buying VERY GOOD QUALITY bulbs it is most likely this or..... get your alternator checked. It should produce no more than 14.7volts at 1000rpm or higher. If it does..... this is a likely problem.

Have a problem getting into gear car will start but then three horizontal lines come up
Sorry to hear this. It’s a common problem. It COULD be the actuator is stuck. Switch in ignition to position one foot on brake push gear to 1. Switch off ignition. Get out the car and rock it back and forth.
Get back in car position neautral for gears and try and start the car

Smart E.R. Hi smart ER I have the most annoying thing going on with my smart car fortwo 2005 model. Could you please help! I’ve went to 3 mechanics and few other places but no one can seem to know where a noise is coming from.

Not heard of this before but found the - Hold your foot on the brake pedal and push the gear lever to the neutral position. key to position 2 briefly and the car will start the engine. On the diesel smart, as you turn the key to position 1 the preheater light will come on. When this light goes out you can turn the key briefly to position 2 to start the car.

@@SamSulek.Videos funnily enough… I do!!! The red for two on my channel was a diesel. Around town I was getting roughly 65-70 mpg (UK) about 90 on a long run at 60mph
my FUEL gauge is stuck on full, any ideas
