What I see is an American couple living the dream. Dreams come true when you both work hard and sacrifice for each other. Good on ya’ kids. Cheers from the DFDub!
I kove your complementary energy that feeds and enhances each other. You guys are truly blessed and society needs to see more functional couples such as yourselves. I shared this session with my wife and she loved it. Thank you kindly from New Hampshire.
What a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing a glimpse Into both your personal life and work life! The 2 of you seem to have an amazing connection. Your genuineness is so refreshing.
Love the interview. I’m married to career FA, now retired. You mentioned PSP and the unique airport design. My wife had a 32 hour layover there once and I traveled with her SA. (The gate agents said I was a good pacer(no apps back in those days). Because it was off-season we stayed in a luxury SUITE (wow). For our overseas trips we always travelled confirmed because of all my bonus miles/FF status. Once returning from Paris first class the agent told my wife they were not boarding SA’s yet as she had her crew roller board. She politely but firmly said I’m married to a 1K (UA’s highest status at the time). The agent profusely apologized but it was understandable to us. Travel is absolutely a great perk for airline employees and somewhat fir retirees (although tougher to get seats)
Lovely video... next time, consider a live so your viewers can ask both of your questions... for example, does she see the beautiful beaches as the ocean's toilet loke you do?.. Keep up the good work..
Darren, My best Non Rev was with your carrier actually! As long as you don’t have to be somewhere at an exact time/date non rev is for sure the way to go! My wildest time was non reving the day ATA filed bk and seized operations. Every carrier was trying to accommodate customers. Trying to get home to PHX. SFO-LAS-LAX-DFW-PHX. Was genuinely fun!
I REALLY loved this! You are a very blessed person with a great partner and kids. It was great to hear about what you guys are able to accomplish with hard work. Happy 2025 and I hope it’s everything you want it to be for you and your family. 🎉
First.. your good people Darren and I can see that of course you would be married to a lovely woman!! The cruise thing I get as my wife and I have taken 27 so far, in my opinion best vacation ever. Two great folks who found each other😁
What a great video. Thanks to you both. I love cruising too. I mainly watch flight crew and ship crew vlogs. Kellie would love watching cruising ship dancers vlogs
We are spoiled these days, communication-wise. My Dad was an Int’l Marketing VP, and on his three-week trips, he could call home once a week. Even when I started flying internationally 27 years ago, we didn’t have international cell phones!
Great video Darren and Kelli! Loved it, as I do all your videos! On an unrelated note, in that picture of the plane behind you, is there no winglet on the captain's side? 😵💫
Being on reserve, do you have any other business or side hustles or something that you do in your free time (besides spending time with your family, of course)?
great interviews......and beautiful family!!!!! also have a question for you.... at your airline are you guys waiting for their 777x to be certified and enter production??? will it be a plane you;'ll fly and how much training do you expect ?
Thanks for subscribing. I was 29 now 47. There’s a video covering how I got here. Likely doesn’t have a great thumbnail so it’ll just be labeled from a few months ago.
@ Thanks for the reply! Wow I'm turning 29 this year and starting to be miserable as a radiologic technologist. Ive always dreamed of becoming a pilot since 16 years old but parents really discouraged me from it back then and now I thought at 29 it was too late. Now the thought about going into massive debt again is stopping me but thank you for motivating me
@@geekontheflightdeck Thank you! I'l definitely look into discovery flights. I really really appreciate you! I'm going to watch all your other videos and if I have any more questions I'll ask. Thanks so much!

Thank you...22 years later and we still annoy each other daily.
You both are a great couple, hopefully we get to see more duo videos!
Every now and then I can convince her to join in on my videos....we will see.
Behind every great/successful man there stands an even greater woman. I envy you Darren, what a wonderful woman you have next to you!
Absolutely correct!
Thanks for taking time to do this Kelli and Shelby! Watched with my wife.
This is a very interesting Pilot Vlog. Thank you Kelli for taking the time to talk to us. Very informative information.
Have been waiting for this video! Great stuff both ❤
Thank you
5 minutes in and already enjoying your energy together, fantastic!! Lovely
Glad you 2 are still conscious about the cost of everything
I love this video as I'm in flight training, and my wife is getting her masters. You two are very motivating!

Love that you brought your daughter in to the video, she was awesome 😎
It made her day.
It definitely made my night when watching it! 😁

Need to hear more about Norway. On my list for the next trip.
Great trip...so expensive but so much to see.

From an 18 Year Air Force pilot more focused on how moving to the Airlines would affect my family....this has been your best video.
Thank you very much.
We need more videos like this!

I thought Mr Byrd was an educator prior to ATP.
These two folks are mellow, cool 😎, lovely.
I taught A+ Certification at a community college a few before more IT repair and Software company gig.

Great interview with the family!!
Color me jealous. What a great career move!
Another great video this time with wifey, yesss
Fun, engaging, grounded & flexible Family team working thru the challenges to find a balance 🤔😊 Not easy at all but looks & sounds like it's working😎
It takes a lot of understanding and compromise to make it work.
My Great Grandfather was from Bruge.
Love the doggo
Great video Darren and Kelli! Loved it, as I do all your videos! On an unrelated note, in that picture of the plane behind you, is there no winglet on the captain's side? 😵💫
Yeah I think it’s AI generated
And thank you
Another good video 💖
Another reason brother to go back on Airbus, that non contact thing for Kelli 🤔
Awesome insights!👌👌
Good old Austin diversions, I believe I worked that night #AAFamily
Omg the mustache !!! Lando Calrisean ! Billie Dee !
Yeah....when I first upgraded to Captain....wife wants full beard or nothing....stache she hates.

Nope. Our oldest is in two different bands. That’s my second job.
great interviews......and beautiful family!!!!!

I haven’t seen anything about the 777x coming here.
You have a beautiful family
You have a Cavapoo. How can you not love on that puppy? I post this as mine if on my lap.
The dog? It is a golden doodle....I'm not a dog person at all...I have fish!
@@geekontheflightdeck sure looks like our Cavapoo. Enjoyed the conversation.
@@geekontheflightdeck can we get an interview with the fish
She’d love all inclusives. Where you pay for extra dining and alcohol you don’t do that at the resorts. Plus the trivia lol
My moms a molecular geneticist I feel like yall have similar background
I'm trying to decide who has the coolest job. I am totally fascinated with DNA evidence.
I'm fascinated how DNA is used for Family History.
@colinpotter7764 I am old enough to remember when paternity was determined with blood tests. It's amazing how much DNA has advanced over time.
@ not so much paternity, but I discovered my grandfather was Greek by having my DNA tested.
Why is the winglet missing on one wing?
Just a background image
Alright give us the story with why you don’t touch the dog in your house EVER!!!!
I'm not a dog person at all....I am also allergic. It is in the house because it is hypoallergenic.
Woohoo finally lol😂
😢 if I hear I'm the husband of a scientist one more time.
Hmmm. K. I’m the Husband of a Scientist
@@geekontheflightdeck🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥
@@geekontheflightdeck now you have made me cry/laugh.

What the thing about the dog? You don't like dogs do you?😂😂
Not even a little bit
But your dog 🐕 is so beautiful 💖

@InvalidUser30284 take a discovery flight this weekend. Google “Discovery Flight near me”. You’re young. Long life ahead. Life is meant to be enjoyed.
