I can't get enough of this poem. It brought me to life the first time I read it - and the 2nd time...It is even better when Tom Hirons' melodious dark velvet voice reads for us. I purchased the poem as an illustrated poster from Hedgespoken recently, from the U.K. to S. California. Yesterday, I found a frame and hung it above my desk. Then I came here to listen to it again. I'm already planning who to leave it to when I go to dance in the woods forever...
A genuine delight, Tom. I've purchased a number of copies and gifted them ONLY to the dearest and nearest poet-lovers I know. Terrific work! Keep it up! I have a poem-book in process. It's called AN OLD HAG'S SUMMER NIGHT. I wrote it years ago in Switzerland. The hold-up is the illustrations that I need to finish.
I cannot say how much I love this poem and how well it is performed here. Its a punch in the gut and heart and head... I listen to often, and sometimes, I am almost afraid to...
I got chills listening to this. I can tell already it's going to be something I listen to often, in the dead of night, when I need to go looking for inspiration.
We're running a 2-for-1 offer on the poem at the moment at the Hedgespoken Press shop - if you like the poem, take a look at shop.hedgespoken.org - thank you for listening!
I listened to this for the first time today when someone shared it on Facebook, I had some music playing in the background and it sounded awesome! I'd like to do a little remix - how would you feel about that?

This beautifully evocative poem, a tale of old truths, is beautifully read. I feel like I've stumbled upon something great, something my heart needed.
My favorite poem of all. Thank you Tom. Evocative. And rings of past. Evocative of mistakes and misunderstanding
It is my birthday today, 62 years, love this poem. It is a lantern of truth in a dark forest where a shaman dwells

Beautiful. And. How soon we forget our wild god when it visits our home. We remain busy trying to survive 😢

Is your poem-book out in the world now? Perhaps no illustrations were needed.

Forgive me for being late to find this poem. Im currently coming down from a month long period of a hypomanic phase. Really resonates with me
after a prolonged and amazed silence of recognition... the very first words that winged forth, were:... “oh, fckng wow, YES”
Now I have found a wonderful author and this poem has made me love his work. I will add him to my most favorite poets!
I got chills listening to this. I can tell already it's going to be something I listen to often, in the dead of night, when I need to go looking for inspiration.
I am so in love with this poem. Thank you
Everytime I hear or read this it is more perfect.
I purchased several books of his poems and this amazing one is one of them.
the clash of different emotions and images evoked in surprising ways is a wild beauty, like the subject
Lovely.
So many levels here. Great work.

Sure I remember bumping into Tom telling stories at Offrgid Fetival as I was on the way out of doing a talk
Could well have been - we were there telling stories in 2016 and 2017 :)

The wild God is here to show you, are you paying attention?

I used to fork a wild god. It was like that.
Wow. This sounds like an English ode to the god Bhairava.
