Does the light automically switch between night and day mode or do you always do that manually? And it also looks like you always need to lift the lid to feed the fish?
Take note that this video was posted in 2011. The Fluval Edge series can incorporate a Fluval LED timer which does provide additional options. The current Edge does have a top grill that is hinged to provide a feeding door for convenient access for feeding fish.
There is only one opening, rear center of the aquarium. The Edge design is based on aesthetics, the glass portion of the top is meant to covered by water yes. While this does make maintenance more challenging it provides a very cool unique look to this aquarium.
@@fluval Yes, it's gorgeous. A bit narrow though at 10.25" wide for me. I think. Flora is the perfect size but IDK if I want a hangover filter. Looking at the Flex 15g (which I hear is really 10 useable gallons) in white but want the background black and am trying to sort out how to do that. My main gripe is the curved corners being black vs. clear/silicone like the white is fortunately blessed with.
I just bought the 6 gallon edge with the LED lighting, is the light it came with good enough for live plants? I was hoping to have some dwarf hair grass in there but im not so sure the LEDs will be bright enough.
IMO: I own the 7 gallon Fluval "Edge" & I'm not a fan at all. It's a very hard tank to keep clean. The access hole at the top is way too small to really get in there & really manage the tank. The supplied lights aren't efficient enough for plants. I had to upgrade my lights to T5 lights at first & later purchased some good LED lights for my jungle Val plants. But if you're going to use the supplied lights, than maybe fake plants would be better. And the water flow in the tank is horrible. The corners of my tanks barely get any flow so a lot of debris builds up. It's hard to add an air stone because the bubbles tend to collect at the top, therefore hindering the view from the top panel of glass. And no matter what, bubbles will always find their way to the top panel of glass from the HOB water filter kicking up bubbles. I ended up cutting out the glue/caulking that holds the top layer of glass so now it's a fully open-top tank. But I would've been better off just buying a regular open-top tank to begin with. If you just wanted simple desktop fish tank with fake plants & 5-8 fish max then this wouldn't be a bad tank. But if you're a serious fish keeper who wants an easily accessible planted tank than this tank just isn't for you.
Either can contrast depending on what you are keeping in terms of fish, plants and decor. As far as natural conditions go in the wild, white would be the far more common substrate color.
Please contact the Fluval support team by visiting fluvalaquatics.com , simply select the customer support page, we would be glad to assist you in finding a Fluval Edge aquarium.
You guys should make the lighting for coral too. There are members on my forum who have modified the original edge for a marine aquarium. You can see them at thereefuge com . I think if you made the lights coral friendly with no modifications needed, you will get more sales.
Really helpfully, thank you. Have managed to convince my Girl friend to buy me one for crimbo :) Q; what plant is used to get a grass like affect? i also want ideas for small fish, say an inch long... if anyone can help that would be great!! :)
Kristina Lavoie If I ended up with this tank I would get a different light for sure... that or just stick with anubias for plants... I've seen people use brighter light with the fluval tanks and they look great... otherwise I consider fluval to be a brand that wants to look high quality, high-end but just simply isn't.. I have an eheim aquastyle and that fits the bill much better..
When Hagen announced and showed off the Fluval Edge 3 19G 3 Variation Tanks we were told to wait till' next summer for updates. Its been 3 1/2 years since that announcement. Your comment to stay tuned to your webpage is now 10 months old and there is still no updates. Can we safely assume at this point that the project has been scrapped and there will not be a release of the Fluval Edge 3?

Wait - the lid doesn't come off? It's fixed and you have to work through that hole? Is this true?

wow Ive never thought about using a colinder before good stuff!
How do you CLEAN the fluval edge?
you cannot gravel vacuum ?
are the lights sufficient enough for the plants or do i need to make modifications?
Hi George, for a Fluval Chi, would white substrate be better (more contrastive) than black? Thanks for your expert opinion.
Either can contrast depending on what you are keeping in terms of fish, plants and decor. As far as natural conditions go in the wild, white would be the far more common substrate color.
Vibhav Tewari can u name a few brands of good white substrate plz
Fluval EDGE Aquarium 12 gallon how many times do you change the filter a month and how much money a month
How much substrate was used in total ??
Will all of these plants survive with the stock lighting on the 23L model too?
I wanna buy this tank but where do i buy ? I am not able to find this in petsmart or petco. I dont see an easy website to buy online as well.
Please contact the Fluval support team by visiting fluvalaquatics.com , simply select the customer support page, we would be glad to assist you in finding a Fluval Edge aquarium.
do you have too vacuum the substrate?
So when will the 12 gallon edge be available??
Was this shot on a Fisher price camera ?
Awesome, however you guys should have updated the Edge by including the Fluval C2 as the filter system, and not a re-branded Aquaclear 20.

So what substrate is it..looks like coral sand to me
Maui sand, distributed by Unipac in the U.K.
Thanks this was very helpful
Very nice, but can you show as how it looks like after 6 months?
Really helpfully, thank you. Have managed to convince my Girl friend to buy me one for crimbo :)
Q; what plant is used to get a grass like affect? i also want ideas for small fish, say an inch long... if anyone can help that would be great!!
:)
Is it me or does the light look mega-weak?..
I have the 6gal, and the light IS really weak, which kinda bums me out. No high light plants in THAT tank!

whats the substrate
@D12DetroitD12 Everyone seem to have live plants in their fluval edges. Yes, with LED lights.
i dont see why not. most planted tanks use 6500k lights. and these has 7600k lights. but id reseach it just to play it safe.
@davidkarl2005 i would go with tetras they are pretty small and if u get the right ones will look amazing in that tank
FLUVAL 06 CANISTER SERIES CAME AND U NEVER MADE A VIDEO
@ConorHughes4
The new 23l does get the day & night bulbs.
the captions. WTF???
⭐⭐⭐
This tank is dumb.. Why is the top blocked off?
The Fluval Edge series is a very popular aquarium based on its unique design, many really appreciate its aesthetics.
4:58 son of the gun haha
Hate those tanks, there's absolutley no room for you to work with, just a tiny square hole to fit your arm in.
Freelance aquascappr? Rly....lmao calm down. Sweet tank tho
Who calls you the aquascaper ? I suspect only you. cheers mate
I'd suggest you check out his channel at some point Dennis, if you haven't already.
