@@bruceleeds7988 Pimp C claimed "country" because that's how he felt they were seen in comparison to NY and LA. And in reality UGK was from Port Arthur which is by no means a big city. Bubba sparks may have had some guitar or harmonica samples but I don't think that makes it any more country than most hip hop. Then take into account that Pimp C was black, so "country" to him may have been the blues and church music influence that they did have.
"Country rap" as seen today basically means your white and portray a certain image. Not much else matters. Look at Jellyroll, he was a white trap rapper but now changed his image to be a "country rapper."

I get it that Timbaland wanted to give Bubba an authentic hick hop sound with Deliverance. But continuing the southern street hip hop sound along with his country raps like he been doing, that would've been the better move. That formula was working.
Being experimental on the sophomore album is how you get the sophomore curse. Nah, he should've made a Dark Days Bright Nights Part 2. Not actually call it that, but sonically that.

His explanation of how he'd wake up pop two pills then take a couple shots of Patron shows how most people with a fan base deal with their fame..
Being a popular figure people will expect you to be a certain type of way but behind it all these people are simply just human beings like the rest of us who have had the courage, ability, and luck to put their work out there for the rest of the world to see
Fans however expect them to be a certain type of way and if they don't give them that satisfaction they somehow will be let down by it

Most can't relate to what it's like being famous..Being approached on a daily basis by numerous individuals you've never met before and having to be "On"
That's where the drugs come in, they are no longer just an average person anymore..
Some naturally have the ability to deal with all this new attention some don't..

I know that addiction my brother. I’ve been a big fan since 2002.
I had a major knee surgery done and I had never been addicted to anything in my life. But I got them lortabs in my system and was like yo I get these ishes for free and the high feels better then smoking weed and that’s when I knew I fucked up cause that mentality right then and there had me hooked. Just like he said we all knew about what addiction is but no clue about the withdrawals and boy them withdrawals are like a nightmare. I don’t wish that or addiction on anyone I know. I was addicted for 13 years and it robbed me of my melatonin that helps you sleep. I finally got sober and I’ve now been sober for 8 years. Mad respect ✊🏼 too you bubba sparxxx my prayers are with you an may god be with you and keep guiding you through it.

I'm bubba's age from Jamaica Queens new York EST 1977 just like Him and Just like Him, I started out calling and thinking of them as God in a bottle it gave me everything I felt I was missing and took my pain away once my long term issues healed up and I was taken off the percs I went through 180 grand in the bank account 50 grand in the safe 17 credit cards and eventually sink down to being totally homeless BUT it was all my own earnings I spent I never stole it begged, one it became time I went to the shelter found a meth clinic and started putting things back together but never got back no 180 in the bank or 50 grand in the safe no 17 credit cards matter of fact I'm still struggling

"Do you recall the time people loved you unconditionally? Toastin' the New South - 'this one is for history!'" I remember bumping the "Deliverance" song on an old mix CD I made back in college summer 2003, when I did a summer internship in NYC. That was the same time Lumidee's "Never Leave You (Uh Ohh)", Wayne Wonder's "No Letting Go" and Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love" were big hits.

I feel Mac Miller succeeded from a commercial standpoint where many other white rappers failed. Before his death, he really amassed a loyal niche fanbase, and was respected by the greats who are black in Hip-Hop. He never sold out, and did his own style.

I remember the first time getting dope sick and not knowing why, and that started 3 years of shear hell getting halfway through withdrawals then giving up and getting right back on it. Clean 7 years now while also in pain management while holding it down, all glory to God

The way man’s expressed how the dope will grab you is true to even think strait about how to maneuver and get off it you need to get high first then once you’re high you start regretting getting high shit is a total mind fuck stay away from drugs man….

I have friends and family that had injuries and was prescribed oxys and got addicted. I've tried them a couple of times in the past but the whole nauseous feeling turned me off thankfully. Opiate addiction is no joke glad you made it through. One of my best friends overdosed and died from that shit.
