Halloween at the Palladium was always 2 shows. An 8pm and a midnight. We always made sure we got tickets to the midnight show because Zappa would play until 5 o’clock in the morning. Those were great times.
This gentleman was no fucking joke. Jesus Christ, could he play guitar. I miss Frank. I think most of the world does and I ain't just talkin people. Jeez, this is fucking brillance.
I thought i liked guitar when i heard jimi hendrix and i learned a few chords......then i turned 35 and i heard frank zappa FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR REAL, i mean id heard joes garage and such but never HEARD THEM ya see, Now i listen to frank weekly and massage the pentatonic scale like my wife's thighs.......please believe my life is much more enjoyable now with frank.........I really miss him. I am that weirdo in the corner signing jewish princess to himself getting goosebumps everytime he hears frank or ray white play those strings.
Chemical abuse? Why don't you do some research? You would know Zappa did not take drugs, and was very disgusted by them, so much so that he did not allow his bandmembers to be under the influence while performing or rehearsing, anytime they were in his presence, or they'd get the boot.
Zappa was what James Brown claimed to be, the hardest working man in show business. Saw him with four different bands, but the real standout was a gig in a huge gymnasium at Penn State, with George Duke, Jean Luc Ponty, Ruth Underwood, and a cast of star quality players. He did Florentine Pogen, among others. I drove 150 miles to the gig and had to drive back the same night, on a thruway crowded with tractors and trailers, but it wasd absolutely worth it. I know that Zappa could be uneven from gig to gig, but that was the best rock concert I have ever seen. (The Dead came close, and The Byrds at Huntingdon, leading off with a hard rocking Lover of the Bayou, among a lot of other contenders, but Frank buried the lot of 'em.) There was always a lot of squirrel in Zappa, but Lord that squirrel could rock!
Zappa playing guitar...tell about genious

James worked his ass off as well, don't slight him for sake of conversation.
5:25 Frank for President. Save us.
I love the Dylan break at 2:00
HEY YOU'RE HURTING JOEY PSYCHOTIC! LOLOLOLOL
Love Belew
This is concert on Baby Snakes
Interacting with the audience ,which was rare...
You know the audio/video synch issue could be fixed. Very distracting....and then there is Mr Belew ripping on Muffin Man....nice
Does anyone know where I can find the full concert?
(on video)
@@ozzemad Not entire Live in TH-cam but many "fragments"...This Masterpiece for exemple : th-cam.com/video/2wvzL7Kze_0/w-d-xo.html
On Baby Snakes film/DVD. I think there is the full performance of this show
But of course some of the audience were under the influence- it was in the 80s.
Um, who's chemical abuse are you referring to?
This was actually from 1979.
This is the worst demonstration ever, of chemical abuse.
