sometimes I feel, Im learning so much online, so quickly.. I feel crazy trying to piece it all together, connecting the dots, and reprogramming myself, leaving the past behind, to evolve. I walked to the lake, to get grounded by the negative ions and clear my mind, while listening to 'Wish You Were Here' for inspiration to shine through, hold it together. The next day, Im starting a liquidarian cleanse, looking for liquid videos to inspire me, and I find this one, playing the 'Shine On..' I was just listening to.
Absolutely incredibe guys! Spent the whole 33 minutes anstonsihingly mesmerised...completely enveloped in the immense beauty and mind blowingly stimulating formations! I look forward to seeing more, and also giving this a go myself? Thank you!
If you are still interested, we created a couple of other videos. Check out the videos of this account, videos like this one: th-cam.com/video/z0nO0dXXio4/w-d-xo.html
Hi Zupahfly. That is simply fantastic. I love that amazing liquid light show very much!!! Someday I need to try that technique as well. So far, I'll stay at my relaxing lava lamp videos. Keep on working. I love it!
GESLAIN Christine It's Zero 7 - Somersault. The woman's (artist) name is Sia. Check out all their tracks, they're amazing! th-cam.com/video/k4RqsSLdiw0/w-d-xo.html
Great images. I wonder if I could use them as video images to 'enlight' my recordings of a friend's performances of Ne me quite pas from Jacques Brel. So that I can put in on youtube.
So, i just came up with this idea, and looked it up if someone did this already (most probably there's always someone before you with the same idea) and this looks awesome! I love the rawness of it! Have you guys ever though of throwing effects over the visuals? Or do you guys want to keep it as pure, as physical as possible?
Okay, i want to add this: I've just been looking around a bit more, and found out this is not just "someone before me had the same idea" but it's a crazy big thing. I dont want to come off as an ignorant douche, i had no idea. This needs to come back into the world as big as it used to be. I can watch this for hours! When I was in the hospital regularly, and I got these drugs to sort of anesthesize me (the effects were like i was shitfaced drunk, the medicine was called dormicum), they often turned on this oil-disc projector, this makes me think about how wonderful that looked.
Thanks! We try to do both. This video was our first attempt and therefor was very raw and natural. We are experimenting more now. Check out our other videos as well :) It is indeed a phenomenon from the 60s. These days it is quite rare to see it, but I fully agree, we should see more of it! So here we are, making more :D. Check out the website if you like it: www.edsamazing.com
I've studied it, I was hoping you might have another pointer or two. My main issues is with the mixture settling too quickly, not moving at all without constant agitation.
Bloker True, this will indeed happen. My friend who makes these projections is constantly tinkering with it. The best results are achieved if you use multiple glass bowls stacked in each other with different color liquids/oils in each bowl. I think the tutorial points to this as well. In this video, we didn't tinker with it that much, so the video is pretty calm and just liquids moving veeeery slowly until it stops and we have to give it some spin again or blow into the liquid through a straw or something similar. If you want more action you have to give it more input :D. I hope that helps, let me know if you made a video or something, I would love to see how you do it :)
I haven't gone through all the comments, but I was wandering what track this is? I really like it and it would be amazing to listen to after relaxing, if you know what I mean ;)
I was gonna insert a JJBA part 4 reference....... But then again, the colors and visuals are still worthy of being referred here. (if you search "Crazy Diamond" in Google images, you'll plenty of one of the "characters" of the series...... But in the Part 4 of the animated series, the sky is yellow and the pavement is pastel green..... Yup, I think It's psychelichaly fitting)
What projector set up do you use? I play in a band and want to get a simple but effective set up and not break the bank in doing so. Can you help me out with some ideas? Thanks!
Just a second hand overhead projector, you should be able to find one for less than 100 euros. The real hard part is finding glass bowls that fit and finding the colorants that behave the way you want them to :)
Hi there, would I be allowed to use a clip from one of your shows as the visual aspect of a recording of my band? With full credit to you of course, thanks!
Hey Ed! Im putting together projection designs for a theatrical production at my university, would it be okay if I incorporated some of your designs into the show? would of course credit you!
This video is 100% live, no post-edit mixing. In other videos we do (sometimes) mix in the final edit. When we perform live, we do use two overhead projectors and project on one spot. We will release a new live performance video soon.
Hello, I put on a live music series in Oakland, CA. All proceeds go to the musicians who perform. I project cool abstract videos during the show. Would it be OK with you if I projected your videos?
Hi Adrian, anyone can simply project our videos from TH-cam. If you would like to use the full quality videos (and support us), please contact us on info@edsamazing.com. Spoiler: they are extremely affordable :).
If you send me your e-mail address in a private message on google+ or something like that, I can send you a download link. It would be cool to see the result of your project if that is possible :)
Hey - looks great! Can you tell a little more about how you did it? I would like to make something similar. I'm making a music video, as my final project at my school. Josefine :)
Hey Josefine! Thanks :) Actually a friend of mine (Ed) did the liquid light show and I filmed and edited it. He does it with an overhead projector without any paper on it, a projection screen (of course) and an undeep bowl of fluid. In the bowl you can put plain water and add colorants, oils and all sorts of things like that. The projector will emit light through that bowl of pretty colors, through the lens thing on top and project it onto the projection screen. I simply filmed the projection screen with my EOS camera :). He uses something old school like this: thebenshi.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/1.jpg. If you make anything, please let me know! I would like to see it :)
It is a glass bowl that is not very deep ;) just plain glass without any ornaments or whatever. The liquids and oils go into the bowl, the overhead projector beams light through the bowl /w liquids and projects the result on a screen. This produces the images you see in the video.
You're a master at your craft sir
Please keep doing more of this

There is a dragon face right at 2:55. Great light show!
This is sick! Can I use this for a video of mine?
Great stuff dude. Any tips on technique you could offer?
Bloker The best advise I can give you is to watch the tutorial by liquid light lab: th-cam.com/video/IYZkh8UI0JIG/w-d-xo.htmlood luck and have fun!

Hi Christy, yeah you can use our shows, please credit us and a link to www.edsamazing.com would be appreciated :) Thanks for asking!
What kind of mark/type of color you had use?
And is it water?
Hey Ed! Im putting together projection designs for a theatrical production at my university, would it be okay if I incorporated some of your designs into the show? would of course credit you!
how do you film whilst changing the colours?
+Tilly Corbett My friend, Ed, is working the colors while I manage the camera (which is on a tripod btw)
yessssss
is this mixed together live on two tables !? or is it cut together?
This video is 100% live, no post-edit mixing. In other videos we do (sometimes) mix in the final edit. When we perform live, we do use two overhead projectors and project on one spot. We will release a new live performance video soon.

surprised no one's mentioned the hair that's floating on the water in the first few minutes
whats and undeep bowl?

Yes sir :) And Buckethead and Fat Freddy's Drop
Holy shit. I keep seeing faces.
LSD is a hell of a drug. Enjoy your trip Sam. :-)))
