How to resolve blurry or jagged labels on a Zebra label printer (Mac and Windows)

- Straight out of the box, my Zebra LP2844 printer printed like crap. Instead of crisp clean labels, they were jagged and fuzzy.

Something to watch:
I tried for hours to get LPrint by MSweet working but couldn't manage to turn off dithering. If you're good with computers and want to save a few bucks, you might be able to print on a mac for free. Check it out here: www.msweet.org/lprint/ - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I'm having this issue on a wireless rollo printer. The barcode comes out jagged like in the video when I print from a PC only. As much I hate to say it I'll probably stick with the munbyn brand.
Wow, I was so frustrated with the Zebra I was printing on a laser printer and cutting them out with scissors. I followed his instructions exactly and bingo, back to efficiency. Many thanks for posting this video. You've saved me tons of time.

Wow! This was just what I knew HAD to be out there somewhere. After trying all the same 'fixes' as you, I was about to give up, but tried a TH-cam search first because I knew I couldn't be the only one to have this frustration. Wow! Awesome! My Zebra GK420d printed the fuzzy bars too and I'd tried just about everything I could find in the Zebra settings. I just installed the Seagull driver, turned off dithering and it's perfect. Thanks!
After many hours of frustration with my Mac and a zebra gk420d, I finally understand why I could not get it correct (either blurry or zoomed in). So I bought a wireless rollo instead. Too bad I didn’t find this video in my first hour. Thanks for the effort!

I find it amazing why #Zebra is so oblivious to the poor quality of their thermal printers for Mac OS. It seems they are solely focused to Windows profitability since the Apple market is probably too insignificant. My continual frustration with the ZP series printing blurry labels led me to this video after 3 years of not finding a solution. What I've discovered the solution to be, is custom drivers by third parties since Zebra doesn't care how their printers perform for Mac OS out of the box. And I have spent days tweaking settings with the same lackluster improvements shown in this video. One example of it done right, is the provider ShipStation. The have perfected the interface issues supporting multiple printer brands and models with minimal setup. But I don't print enough to justify their fees. I moving to Rollo and am not learning to code Zebra drivers. Such a waste of time! Thanks for your effort and this video Adam!

Awesome fixed my Zebra Tlp 2844 after fixing that setting. Bought it used on ebay for 27 dollars thing works great now. Even though I bought a zp 450 for 288 brand new before I bought a used tlp 2844 for fun and was suprised I got a great deal on it and it still works. Thanks for the awesome video and the help much appreciated.
WOW! Adam, you are a genious! My labels are now crisp and pretty. Why can't Zebra do this out of the box? Why do their drivers have all the jagged lines. Thank you for finding this and sharing it.

Super helpful. Was looking for help with a BCL D110 printer making barcodes with jagged lines. I'm printing on a 1.25" wide by 1.00" tall barcode label though. I'm also using a Mac. The printers native "test page" shows clean, straight lines, so I can only assume it's an issue from the computer, or the way the printer is interpreting the computer signals.
We resolved this issue by changing the 'Dithering' setting slider from 'Image' to 'Clipart' in the Zebra driver.

After installing the Seagull driver in Windows, do you still use the Zebra Setup Utilities to change darkness and speed, or is that now set somewhere else?

I'm still getting those jagged lines on the barcodes after installing the Seagull driver in Windows and changing the settings as indicated in the video. In fact, every single dot is printed exactly the same with both Zebra and Seagull drivers. Any help is appreciated!

My brand NEW zp450 prints like this i have a mac and this has not been resolved idk what to do
Unfortunately, no software settings or drivers have resolved this issue on the ZP450 we used at work either (including dithering). We're just giving up and replacing it.
Moving to Rollo, hope this fixes the blurry Zebra.
@@iefuzznoize We went with a brand new Zebra ZD421. Everything is printing perfectly now. I half wonder if this was just a matter of Zebra not continuing driver support for older printers, or if the hardware really was busted on the 450. At any rate, problem "solved" I guess.
@@jasonfrost5025 Ah, good to know. I like the durability of Zebra but it seems other software frequently has to fix their Mac compatibility issues. When I was with ShipStation their custom built drivers worked perfectly on any Mac OS. I'll take a look at the 421, thanks!

I use mac & Zebra ZP 450. UPS Blurry, USPS Blurry, FED EX clear as a bell labels. Sheesh
how do you increase the printing speed? It's way too slow with seagull

Haven't been able to fix that problem on mac OSx. old versions or newest OS. My horse Zebra is ZP450. It work great on Windows but not on OS by the way on Android quality is worse.

Change the printing speed and try. make little bit speed.
