The Predator looked completely different when Van Damme was playing it. He left and they changed the whole design to what it is now. Its was an absolute blessing.
He tried to change the movie as well, he wanted to Predator to do mma
I actually read about Buddy Ebsen being allergic to the Tin Man's makeup.
Left a role do for a bike crash and being hospitalized is not exactly a reason to call it a shocking reason.
Michael Jai White was almost Jax in Mortal Kombat Annihilation, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with Spawn.
Buddy Ebsen's voice still appears in The Wizard of Oz in a song.
But Sir Ian McKellen did a wonderful job at portraying Gandalf in the movies. So it was still very good.

I understood Van Damme was just too short for the part - Arnold is about 6' 2" and Van Damme Around 5' 9" - so he was replaced by hall who stands at 7' 1".
Will Smith as Neo would not have worked, his swaggering arrogance could not play well as that character. I think he might have been good in Django Unchained, but the nuance of Jamie Foxx was superb, and the fun, respectful chemistry between he and Christoph Waltz was incredible

I remember reading a long time ago that the former Disney ceo, Ike perlmutter, said it didn’t matter that don cheadle replaced Terrance Howard because all “black people look alike” and so the audience wouldn’t even notice. He wasn’t directly involved in marvel much after this.

Terrence Howard’s pay dispute wouldn’t have led to Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine if Howard had agreed to what he earned from his work. I can’t see anyone other than Cheadle playing good old Rhodey.

If your character is so masked, you don’t know who it is there is really no point of playing a role, jar jar binks should be a great example. Anyone with a talent for acting can play those roles… Vann was right to walk away.

The reason they replaced Eric Stoltz with Michael J Fox was simply because MJF was super popular with teen girls at that time due to Family Ties. They wanted a more bankable lead. They aren't fooling anyone. ES would have been a great Marty, likely an even a better Marty. They are full of crap.

Regardless of how you feel about the man or his policies I think we can all agree that Alzhiemers is not funny and trying to portray the story of a man who is battling this illness should not be portrayed as a comedy. Jean-Claude Van Damme was not fired or quit. He was negotiated to leave because the whole ninja crab like alien was not going to work out against a bunch of tall muscle men. HOWEVER ... he was still in contract and to this day gets a paycheck when ever the movie is played or sold etc. He said he has no regrets. I seen the footage. It looks crazy. He was tiny and jumping around. Peter hall was the better choice obviously.
