The head of Nelson is now on display at the library of Pearse Street...its amazing that it survived. The man who blew it up was called Sutcliffe, he was interviewed years later. I think the Spire is hideous and it's a pity the column didn't survive, it could have been topped by another statue, eg, James Connolly. And the digital portal is fascinating but will create a bottleneck on a very busy pedestrian area of Dublin and will attract pickpockets 🎭🛎

All the old women shouting. '10 For 50 dee apples' in a Dublin accent. All gone now. I was in it and it was full of Romanians 😢
Yes Patrick there was a small bar at the other end .I was featured in the movie "The Mammy" it was at the Parnell end on the right and had a hatch that served onto the street
