The Run Home

This is the story of Louis, a 17 year old schoolboy from the west coast of Scotland.
The film follows Louis on his six-mile run home from the school bus through the wilderness of the Keills Peninsula, overlooking the sound of Jura.
From the village of Tayvallich, the route is unmarked through ancient woodland and rugged open hill, passing by standing stones and hill forts. Seeing another human is rare; meeting herds of red deer, pods of dolphins, and sea Eagles are more likely encounters.
On a warm summer’s day, the route is easy to find, a far cry from the dark days of winter when a head torch, map and compass are required to make it home.
