Thanks Motorman for the review of the TB-3 Ultra Brace! Yes, we did send the earlier model year kit w/shorter screws, thinking it was going on the older bike without the liner. Glad you sorted it out. We didn't want to ship too long a screw and have the screw end protrude out too far. We'll certainly consider your tips for improvement -- thanks!
You're very welcome and thank you for sending me the Ultra Brace. By the way, I do have 3 other bikes with tour packs minus the tour pack liner........

You can get long folding hinges EXACTLY like this from the hardware store for $10 or less. I'm sorry but $80 is absurd. Thanks for the video though, gave me a killer idea!
Everything they offer is over priced. Their shipping costs are at least 3 times actual cost, and god forbid if you have to return. You actually will lose money!
I put a lot of weight on the top of my four pack I shorten my tether and I don’t let it hang without my hand on it while it’s loaded. I keep both of our rain gear leather jackets all that stuff so it’s easy access on top of the tour pack. Great video thanks
I love your videos, being anew subscriber (from the UK) and your choice of bikes. I fully appreciate how gracile box hinges can be, especially when there is weight or wind to break them. What I used to do is get lockable furniture/cupboard/window/door hinges in for a few $ and use them. I would think the bottom mount should go behind the liner? then your screws would have been long enough? and then the bottom mount of your brace wouldn't scratch stuff being mounted on the outside of the liner? And wait a minute my chrome grips have a function, they are heated to keep my hands warm!

Nice job Gerry, but you shouldn't have had to do that,Harley charge enough for everything you buy from them,it should have had it installed as standard.
This is called a "lid support hinge." This costs in the neighborhood of 2-5 dollars at any hardware store. The difference is in the base plate. For $79?? It's an excellent idea- but at that price they should be ashamed of themselves for talking advantage of people.
I’m very careful when I open my tourpack lid even with the stock tether ! The fact that it came with substandard hardware tells me it’s probably a El Cheapo Made in China part! I’ll pass !
Yea the volume is a little low. Try this link th-cam.com/video/bwkavRXJKCQ/w-d-xo.html I listened to the video with ear phones and it was ok. But you are right, if you listen with just the lap top speaker it is too low. I'll fix that next time.
@@motorman857 when you got new longer screws do they punch thru the other side of the container if so how far or is plastic so thick you never even see it drilling 50% into the plastic? Just wondering as I saw video but I never saw other side of the container in video thanks
Try turning the volume up all the way. Or, this link th-cam.com/video/bwkavRXJKCQ/w-d-xo.html I listened to the video with head phones so I didn't notice it was too low. I'll be sure to fix that on my next video. Sorry.

Another great video.
I got the same thing through J&P Cycles for my Indian Roadmaster.
Yes, we supply the TB-3 to J&P Cycles for the Indian; one of our best dealers Michael.

Thanks for the tip motorman. I'll look into that website
Great Idea, but $79.99? WILDLY overpriced...
For an additional couple of bucks you could get the whole "ride like a pro" DVD set. WAY BETTER USE OF YOUR MONEY!

My 80 tourglide has this, I wonder if it came from the factory with it
Small price to pay I think, because damage to the lid would cost way more to repair.
Then just what is the point oh great one, why don't you explain it to all of us? @@skydivejohnny

I need one
No volume....very low sound
Yes, sorry about that...
It's a better option for sure
What about a tow strap!?
Anyone that has a teeny, tiny bit of DIY skills can do this for way, way, way less. Ridiculously high price for a simple hinge mechanism.
$2000 tour pack should have already come with that, not a cheesy buggie/rope
Actually, that's a 200 dollar after market tour pack.
Volume stinks. I can hardly hear you

@@motorman857 how much sticks out on outer Side of the pack? Or are they feeding thru into the pack?
@@danlevesque5437 Sorry but I don't understand what you're asking. You can go to their web site and watch the install video on the ultra brace.

Yes I will. I played this video back thru an amplified speaker then posted it on youtube not realizing how low the volume was. Sorry.

Audio?
Audio needs to be louder and would have been much more helpful by at least showing one side of the installation. JMO
"Accessoires" i only saw one thing
Weak audio
