CRG Arrow mirrors. Not cheap, but worth every penny. The CRG LS 'lane splitter' mirrors are more ideal if you are splitting lanes since they will fold if you accidentally tag a car's mirror or whatever else. The Arrows do not. I split lanes with them still and haven't had any problems though. Just have to be cautious though, because they are basically a pair of them is essentially a 10-12" (total) rigid extension of your bars.
Check out the "show more" section of the video. The GP3B could never hope to get this sound quality, even with an external microphone. I'm using a high quality kickdrum microphone in my backpack, connected to a Zoom H1 audio recorder in a very high quality format. I have used this mic with the ZoomH1 as a preamp, then run into the GP3B, but sound is not as good as when I record it independently with the H1.
Great idea. I've got similar audio recording gear and have been trying to figure out a way to mic my bike with something other than the GP unit itself. Thanks
Right on. Sounds like you know your Desmos! You could be right. I've not ridden a ton of other Ducati's for any length of time prior to my SF1098. I can attest for the sound you're hearing in this video being pretty much identical (if a little muffled) to what I hear in my helmet, which is what I was going for. Insurance is OK. Just was quoted 709 for 1 year of full coverage from State Farm. That's not TOO terrible. Farmers and Progressive were 1 and 2k respectively, though O_O
No need to apologize. There's a time an a place to go balls to the wall and really wring that motor out. This was not that time or place due to its public roads and the road surface was partially wet and covered with debris. I have another video of a trackday I did on this bike. Much less 'sluggish' shifting there :)
Oh nice, I've been thinking about running a separate mic to the rear of the bike too. There is a specific noise I'm hearing that I hear on my Monster which has a wet clutch. You can't always hear it here, it's kind of that desmo valve whir at low speeds, but I do also hear the wet clutch too. BTW, love the bike, just wish insurance wouldn't bankrupt me on it.
It's not the video camera that's picking up the sound. I have a separate audio recorder; the Zoom H1 with an AKG-D112 microphone. Also the "valve noise" you're hearing is probably the open/dry clutch :)
Yea, I just rolled over 25 on Monday and my quotes have gone down a fair bit. I pay like $640 a year for my M696 through Progressive under my old rate. They wanted like 3k for the SF, but I haven't checked how much that bike has changed. I'm also looking at the M1100 EVO too and the insurance quote was cut in half over night. Everyone has told me to check State Farm, but that would mean moving my car over from Nationwide too, I may look into it...
I was just saying that I knew the conditions were... dangerous, but I was being smooth and cautious and still had a great ride. I prefer much cleaner roads normally.
I thought I heard somewhere that State Farm required you to have a vehicle on the policy with the motorcycle? But multi-vehicle discount would be nice. I have a dealer in northern Ohio ready to let me come up and test the SF848 and M1100 back to back. So we will see...
nice bike, sound like a very good runner, but from what i saw watching, you really could use a shifting class, those bikes where made to shift up in the higher revs, i just see to much sluggish gearing going on, sorry for that just my thoughts
Nothing saying you have to have both vehicles covered by the same company. Multiple vehicle discount be damned. Farmers is still getting me a good rate on my 4x4 Tacoma, so I'm staying with them for that, but State Farm is by far the best for my SF. Check em out. M1100 EVO would be good too. I'd say go test ride a SF if you can. SF848 is almost everything the SF1098 is, just more tame and civil around town. SF1098 is an absolute beast. Either case, plan to spend 3k to make em run right!
You should take this to the next level and film with a DSLR with wide angle lens for even better quality :) (just kidding, GoPro is fine but would be fun to see a video done with good equipment)
You're probably listening on a laptop? The audio in this video is all in the lower frequency range that most laptop speakers cannot reproduce effectively or at all. Try a decent set of headphones or earbuds or better yet a stereo with a subwoofer. I promise you, there is audio. And it sounds fantastic :)
As a Monster owner, I love that your video camera could pick up the valve noise. It something that you can never hear on most people's videos.
Holy crap! You may never need to replace that front tire! Wheelie monster. It's like a damn unicycle! Awesome.

that's an amazing sound......finally a good sounding onboard!

Omg this sound so perfect !!!! 👌👌
Just open the description and you would know.
"Video was shot with GoPro 3 Black in 1080/30fps."

You have to make a guide to the mic setup man ! nice videos keep it up :D
Great Sound !!!!!!!
nothing beats the roar of a ducati
Agreed. You can HEAR that instant torque.
which skeleton are you using on the camera? the audio is much louder an hardly any wind noise compared to what im getting on my hero3 black

Did you use chest mount for GoPro?

Nope got an audio card and a pretty expensive speaker setup. I think you just have to work on audio for the next video
Yeah there was :P
