Thank you for this video. I appreciate it! When you say get credentialized, what do you mean by that?
Creditalized is when you get in-network with insurance companies. BCBAs have to submit applications and get approval to be in-network in order to take a client with that insurance.

Can you share the credentialing outsourcing you used to help you with credentialing process?
Oof. I will share a video about how they screwed me over haha but will not name drop of course. I really recommend getting a mentor for this or knowing what the company should be doing so you can stay on top of them.

If you search on Google “BCBA taxonomy code” you’ll find it.
Qhat are the requirements for credentialing? Educator wise?
You have to have your BCBA or masters degree in course work focused on ABA (QBHP) some states are creating new certifications like LBA that you’d need on top of it all as well. You have to check with the insurance companies you wanted to contract with!

I’m so close to starting in-take with families! I plan to make a okay now what kind of video soon! There is such little information out there so I plan to make a series. Def recommend starting in-home if you are financially restricted!

If you’re already credentialed with an insurance company can you send therapist to do the work in home and bill the insurance company?
It allllll depends on the insurance company/payor

How long does it take for credentialing to be approved?
It depends on the insurance company soooo much. 2-9 months is what I’ve experienced. I know some people are waiting a year for one.

When you stated if you are credentials through a company, does that mean when a employee go through the bcba training through their company the credentials belongs to the company? If I do the graduate program at a university it will be my credentials correct?
Credentialed as I referee to it is getting contracted with insurance companies. This contract would belong with the company you work for. Your BCBA exam credentials belong to you.

Look up your state and business licensing or LLC application, etc. It'll be on a .gov website.
Hello! I have a question. Do you know if you have to obtain BCBA certification in order to own your own ABA clinic? Or can you just hire one for your business?
You can just hire. The only rule the BACB has is that you can’t be an RBT and staff BCBAs because it’s a conflict of interest and dual relationship.
If I can just hire how do I start the ABA company?
Another question I have a Master in Early Childhood and I am a Special Education Teacher. If I just do the graduate Certificate in ABA will I be able to open an ABA or would I have to sit for the test to become a BCBA?
You can open an ABA clinic/company without being a BCBA. You’d just have to hire BCBAs to bill insurance to make money since you couldn’t, until you became a BCBA.

The BCBA would have to bill it under their name since you need a NPI number, but you’d just take a cut off the top for actually owning and operating everything else.
