  • At the entrance to Longwood Gardens, you may have noticed the Brandywine Valley Tourism Information Center and the adjacent cemetery. This was once the Longwood Progressive Friends Meetinghouse and Cemetery where many of the Quakers who were instrumental in the region’s Underground Railroad congregated and helped to foment the nation’s slow march toward the abolition of slavery.
