- Farewell Assassin's Creed Valhalla! The Last Chapter Update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla somehow accidentally released a week before it was supposed to so we got to check out the conclusion to Eivor's story along with a new quest teasing Assassin's Creed Mirage with one of the games' main characters; Roshan.

Yeah I realized that which is why I said we may be entering the animus as William in Mirage but I thought it was possible this somehow linked to Desmond since we know he's going to come back eventually

Valhalla is both a blessing and a curse. The story was great and Eivor in the main game (besides rejecting the hidden ones) was written very well. Even though we were not an assassin I had a feeling of being one that was lost in odyssey I can’t really explain. However I understand the world is bland and the stealth is broken and don’t get me started on the micro transactions. Overall I really enjoyed it and will play one more time but I understand if others despise this game
Valhalla is great, sure many complained it doesn't feel like Assassin and I agree but the main thing was Eivor getting the hidden blade as a gift and set up a whole story as who is Basim is and what he does before his arrival. I can't wait to see which time line we will be playing after Mirage.
Yeah Valhalla was so much variety and more to do in DLC, but I love Odyssey open world more due to naval combat, underwater treasures and it has unlimited side missions. I just find Odyssey world more attractive. I hate how door is always barred in Valhalla. Oh well.. opinion is opinion on each it’s own
I think Eivor rejecting the hidden ones fit her personality and the reasoning also was there, which made her not that good of a protagonist for an assassins creed main title game. Now if this was a spin off game and eivor was a companion in a mainline game similar to the way Mary read was to Edward kenway, it would’ve fit wonderfully. But it isn’t. Nevertheless tho I actually thought the world was really fleshed out with the unique side quests added in. Just completed “nostalgia” on my way to trying to one hundred percent all the regions and damn… that story was really sad and touching and it only is that way if you stay and investigate more.
Keep in mind, all of these games as of late are the start of the AC series and the old games, is when assassin stuff was in full swing.
All these later games are the start of it and working into the swing of it as an assassin.
In otherwords the first games should never have been made but Vallhalla and all of these ones should have been first and working into the old Ac games aka birth of the series into and towards its end.
Keep in mind, old Ac games fed off of the teeny times that game makers were making games to.

Amen my guy. These generic cutscene animations with terrible lipsync are just dogshit. The best thing about valhalla was probably that big cutscene with fulke basim eivor and sigurd i believe where they meet aelfred in his tent. More cutscenes with mocap would be dope
I was playing the older ones and my God despite the old graphics they really feel like actual people in the cutscenes and not awkward

@@Noir-c9k Even the main characters, even though the acting is great in Valhalla (Odyssey less so) I noticed this especially in Valhalla have a terrible terrbile echo that makes it super unrealistic
AC Valhalla was not much assassin creed like but this game will have a special place among all games because of the Viking feel of the game which true Viking fans can understand
Love the content, I remember playing this update when it dropped out of no where last week. Can't wait to see the AC Mirage content.

Once I finished this game, all I was looking forward to was NG+. They add all these cool new features, but I don’t want to regrind this game from the beginning with out a NG+. RIP AC Valhalla, you will just collect dust on my shelf. 🙃

Definitely. I bought the game last October. I like the Story Quests of some of the kingdoms but I am not a fan the pacing towards Sigurd's Story Quest.
I can say, Valhalla is my game to get a level of "Unity Stealth". Oddyssey for my Stealth Rush. Origins.... kinda got ruined because I like Valhalla Stealth more.
I played it since day one and the only thing that changed for me is more bugs. For real, updates should get rid of bugs but in my case there were more and more with each update.
pre-ordered Ultimate edition rightaway for i had from it the same feels i had from promos on Odyssey (which i pre-ordered Ultimate as well,after making a mistake of buying base Origins and showly but surely buying all the rest of the content,season pass,claiming the pre-order mission via ubisoft points,...)

I got little bit sad and much happy, this long journey of eivor has finally ended and thanks for 2 years Valhalla, and Ubisoft is going to put more focus to AC Mirage and hoping the Assasin and stealth which was AC origin is back

@@sonickhable the fact that you can't comprehend that before launch, Ubisoft devs said that both genders are canon is hilarious. You have no way of knowing Eivor is female until the story tells you that she's in fact the reincarnation of Odin, which happens after you complete half the game. Try again.

I finished this game fairly fast when getting into it but the last chapter made me sad a little. We did all this work for Eivor to leave 😭
The question I'm asking is if you're in a relationship with Ravi at the end. That storyline is not tied up. You abandon her for your own selfishness

I'm happy I just watched the cutscenes online instead of wasting time bothering with the required side quests.
I'd say Valhalla is the best ACRPG in terms of gameplay.
I just hope they'll be able to make the best version of AC: Unity in Mirage.

Its odd that basim says he's beaten loki or whatever, because we see him give in before he gets trapped. Maybe learning from Desmond is some kind of important note for basims growth
Basim is loki. The lead writer Darby said "sages are the exact same person as they were in the ISU age, just reborn. Loki can't "beat" himself. As he literally is Basim. Every sage ever since black flag to now, are aware that they are the same person as who they were in the first civilisation. All apart from Eivor, who magically can't figure out that they are odin reborn. But then again. They're the only sage to magically change gender aswell... Eivor makes no sense and has only harmed the understanding of sage lore. All so ubisoft could push female eivor as canon. Because lets be honest, female odin reborn, sounds as ridiculous as it actually is.

But I know how the sages work, I'm saying if basim says eivor and odins new "mentor" relationship toward one another is unfamiliar to his with experiences with Loki then is he lying? I know that's typical of Loki and a sage given in but eivor clearly proves you sages don't have to do what their isu predecessors wish, unless we've all been tricked by Odin somehow
@@jcaaata7338 this is my point tho. We get detailed letters from a sage of Aita who embraced his past as an ISU during black flag. And we get a detailed description of what being a sage is like from a sage of Aita who didn't embrace the fact he is Aita in unity. Neither Aita sage spoke to their own imagination of Aita. That isn't how it has ever worked. I think the sad reality is that Eivor is just insane. It's the only explanation. Even Sigurd and Basim look at Evior as is he/she is crazy. It's a cool idea to show metaphorically eivor comment to terms with their past as odin, and moving past that, via "conversations" between the 2 of them. But all it has done is confuse fans. And it's also wroth to note, the devs who made the final chapter aren't the same people behind the base game. So their understanding of the story isn't what was intended originally.
@@chrismoore5333 I appreciate you breaking it down, I don't really care for this new lore as much as the unity and pre unity AC but it is what it is I guess. Maybe the eivor actually just being mad paranoid portion could play into the templar rebirth. I've always thought that through time both sides innevitibely became corrupt but there are true "assassins" or people we the audience align with. I thought Unity was a great depiction of this an honestly Idk why they stopped
@@jcaaata7338 I get what your saying there mate. My favourite AC games are AC syndicate, and AC 3. But I really like unity aswell. It's like the combination of syndicate and AC3 to an extent. I love how all 3 of those games give 3 dimensions to the templars and the assassins. And I like the old lore for sages alot more. I really hope Mirage is like unity and syndicate. I do feel that syndicate suffered from poor tone, but the game was still really good to me. Even tho many fans misunderstood Jacob badly, and so the games story was hard for some fans to understand. But I won't get into that, because whenever I do, I risk people being rude. The lead writer of syndicate (who also lead the narrative of brotherhood, and worked on AC1, AC2, revelations and AC3) also has spoken about the misunderstanding of Jacob. But regardless, I do agree with you. Just for me, I love pre Origins AC best. That said, I actually do enjoy Origins. Even tho it dose have some silly retcons.

I enjoyed the Mirage Quest but couldn't actually be bothered to play the last chapter. The brightside to all this new content is that you can play the mirage quest very early so you can play through the vast majority of the game with those new beasty robes that you get. Overall i have really enjoyed valhalla but the hooded combat coming in the last update is unforgivable to me. How does it take them 2 years to add a feature in that modders added in at launch?!?!
Can you imagine? After Ac mirage, I think it's a good idea to go back to Ac 1 to Ac 3 by remaking the games. Since Leyla said to Desmond about what ifs, its a good reason to remake Ac 1 to Ac 3 just to show the what If views that Leyla and Desmond talked about.
and now that i have completed everything literally everything after playing this game for 2 years they added the hood always on mode.... feels nice.
p.s while waiting for mirage i just play stealthy and with always hood on mode.. its good
Literally doing an AC marathon, I got up to origins but had to put that on hold as AC 3 became free on ps extra, so I'm going to finish that then continue with Origins
I played as both Alexios and Kassandra in Odyssey and I find them both great and equally enjoyable characters but with Valhalla? Male Eivor for the win, no contest.

I'm definitely not a fan of F Eivor's Voice. The gruffy voice sounds like Mulan pretending to be a man.
M Eivor gave Connor McGregor vibes and I'm all for it.
The female eivor is trash lol just like female V from cyber punk. V sounds like she smokes 8 packs of Marlboro reds every day.
I actually finished the Raven and The Cuckoo early in the game. And for the rest of the game, I have been rocking the garments that were given through that quest.

I thought I was the only person enjoying it while all my friends have moved on to other games I find myself still doing random stuff on here.
I personally love the different versions of ezios family I know other assassin's creed fans don't but I think the theme suits assassin's creed as the games theme if you think about it the assassin's are ezios family in a sense however I do understand why other fans have problems with ubisoft reusing it
Unrelated question, are double counter kills common in AC Rogue remastered?
I played the Roshan mission and I guess I'm just in "completion mode" because it didn't change the way I've been running around and just went all viking like it was a raid. I've even gotten to the point of not caring so much about it being an AC game and trying to find what little enjoyment I can get from it. To have such a large game with very little to do with being an Assassin, to me was the thing that killed and still kills me about it. To me this game is simply "Vikings: Valhalla".

So I bought Valhalla during the recent sale (silly price, even if I didn't love it) and I got the Raven and the Cuckoo pretty early on. Got that armor and never found anything throughout the game that I preferred. Couldn't understand why no one ever mentioned it in "10 tips" or "Best...." videos. Now I know!!! It's because the content was super new!!! I had no idea!
For the record, having been scared off by reviews making it look like there was next to no stealth in the game, I have really enjoyed playing it. Great game (though I could understand why purists would not love it)

I played the mission with Roshan as the second or third mission after getting to England and have worn her outfit the rest of the game.
I love Basim and Eivor
Eivor is a female name and her name is Eivor Varinsdottir (meaning Varins daughter). Even when playing as the male version, all writng etc is refferencing her av Varinsdottir.
The male "Eivor" is just the Odin DNA she had that messes with the Animus. That's why male Eivor looks just like Odin.....
She's a woman, that's always been canon.
All the writing referencing her as Varinsdottir was an oversight, I finished the game yesterday and all the letters that mentioned Eivor's surname had written "Varinsson" if you play as a man.

To be fair, it's been long confirmed a million times over that Eivor is female and Odin was male, and both their DNA are present in the sample used in the Animus. Darby McDevitt said before the game even came out that "Let the Animus choose" is canon, which, as it turns out, makes you play female Eivor/male Odin. Books and comics always showed Eivor as a woman too, man... I get that not everyone engages with that stuff but it's surprising that you're just now seeing this confirmed. I thought it was common knowledge by now lol. Maybe I'm just in too deep... 😅
Discrimination based on gender bias in an "RPG" is just sad and wrong of ubisoft. No matter what lies or sad story they put to it. They punished fans who played as the better acted male eivor. Sexists at ubisoft hate men, but pretend to be victims of sexism against women. Only difference is that we have proof that they don't like men, and they have no proof of their workplace dramas.

100% agree on the weirdness of them having male Eivor playing Odin... AND on the male Eivor being better voiced - by FAR. And I loved Kassandra and vastly preferred Evie (particularly since she was the more stealthy character, but she was voiced extremely well also), so they can bite me about it being misogyny. Also, I enjoyed Valhalla, but it was by no means my favorite AC.
Of the recent ACs, I liked Odyssey the best. Of all of them, I enjoyed the Ezio trilogy, followed by Odyssey and then Syndicate, Black Flag, Unity, etc.

can you please do a video where you explain basims part in valhalla. i personally gave up on the game before finishing story, and im sure im not the only one. so im completely lost as to why basim is in the future with desmonds father and that he sees visions of loki. so if you ould clear that up, it would be awesome so im more prepared for mirage. otherwise great video, and you convinced me to return to valhalla just for the black box mission

On a personal note, let me add that pacifiying England literally does nothing to effect this part of the story. It's just locked behind the progression wall of completing enough regions. But yeah, that's the jist.

I thought it was serviceable at best. Not anything to write home about but it's quite annoying that they basically left his character untouched for two years. It's a little ridiculous, if you ask me. But still, I loved this game very much.

Wouldn't recommend it becomes boring as hell after some time
it's a VERY long game but also has a lot of content to offer, especially for 20 bucks. So I personally recommend it but just don't expect it to be a completely linear story AC game.
It is just okay. For a 100+ hour campaign, 'just okay' can quickly become a hell of a slog if you don't make your own fun. Tbf there is a lot of content for it but if you aren't invested in the world and you don't feel like pretending to be an Assassin in an AC game with a non-Assassin MC, it's okay to skip.

@@minimimimaxiboy1 I can understand that. Personally, I've pretty much solved the Stealth Issue by figuring out the detection quirks and Smokebomb Arrow.
Valhalla Stealth became fun again.

The changing the character is actually not to “Female” but to non-binary, which makes sense as to the whole story about the DNA being confusing in the animus (even though we don’t have sexually confusing dna for trans-people, maybe something else makes it confusing 🤷🏻♂️)
