Interesting end to slow start

Commercial red snapper season just opened the day before this was filmed. We planned to go only as far as we had to get our fish. Chris and Jason both got 20 lb snapper on their first dive. The spot I picked didn't show a lot of snapper on the fish finder but I went in anyway. Started off slow but got exciting at the end. Check it out.

If red snapper wasn’t open u probably would have bounced and missed out on all those grouper. Biggest scamp of the year?

I absolutely would have. Most likely wouldn't have went in the first place based on fish finder. They came from the SE so next time start there and continue SE

I was waiting for gray suit to show. It looked sharky from the start and that lone cuda always has me thinking sharks

Yes that’s why we don’t dive the snapper spots till the season opens. It’s a win loose. Need to make some fish come in but actions bring action. That was the biggest scamp I’ve taken in 5 years.

They don't always come up that focused. Usually circle at a distance and you can run them off by swimming toward them. Not this time.
