Scuba Steve's Edible Sea Creatures
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 มี.ค. 2022
This channel is for video logging the dives/trips of a commercial spearfishing/fishing business. On average making 40 trips a year and as many as 200 dives. Hard to keep them separated. I've had some crazy experiences... wish I'd have started this 10 years ago. I will try to answer questions in comments.

Monster mangrove snapper
มุมมอง 352วันที่ผ่านมา
Last dive of the trip. Sun going down, only had a tank with 1900psi. Not a personal best but close.
Random Rock... Recovery
มุมมอง 50314 วันที่ผ่านมา
This was another time I was able to get the recovery on a fish that would normally be lost. I hooked it and it went in a hole. Tom was able to hold the boat in place and I followed the line to the fish.
Lost then look
มุมมอง 1.4K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
First dive of this trip. It was an unscheduled dive, we stopped on a mark wile running to a deeper spot. Hook and line fishing produced some bliners and one big break off. Unfortunately the line broke so I cant follow it down to the fish. Thats my cue to suit up and take a look.
What ends up on my Loop?
มุมมอง 1.3K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
This dive is from earlier in the year when red snapper were closed and gags were open. I had dove this spot one other time and it had a couple grouper and a bunch of triggerfish. Lets see what I can put on the stringer loop this time.
New gun glitch.
มุมมอง 214หลายเดือนก่อน
With anything there is a learning period. This video was from earlier in the season when I started shooting my new over under gun. I found a glitch with the shaft configuration. See if you catch the problem when it happens.
Hello gags, "Sir, Were closed"
มุมมอง 405หลายเดือนก่อน
Out looking again. This was a new small spot. Seasonal restrictions on many of the most valuable fish are now in effect. Good thing I carry gear for just about anything that swims or crawls.
Surprise red recovery
มุมมอง 145หลายเดือนก่อน
On this dive I found a big red snapper chilling in a hole. That is unusual as they don't just hide like that. When I pulled it out I realized why. Jason had shot and lost this fish on a dive earlier. It had swam 1000' and went in this hole. Glad I was able to recover it and it didn't go to waste. At 36" to the fork it would have been my personal best but I don't claim it because it was a team e...
Hogfish parking lot
มุมมอง 2.1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Only three visits to this spot and each time there were multiple hogfish. The first clip is from 2020 when we first found the spot. Jason came up with three hogs and a grouper. I dove it in 2022 and had a swarm of hogs, and last week my other friend Jason dove it and got some hogfish.
"Seafood sleeping bag"
มุมมอง 3342 หลายเดือนก่อน
This dive was testing my latest lion fish bag. "The seafood sleeping bag" has undergone some changes and updates. This is probably version 4. This one now has "lobster tubes". After a few dives I think I may need bigger tubes for the lobster I encounter.
$12 Jig "Refund"
มุมมอง 5044 หลายเดือนก่อน
It happens about once every trip. Someone hooks a good fish that goes in a hole and usually breaks of quickly. It happened twice this trip only this time the line didn't break. Tom kept the boat close to the spot and I got my gear on. This is what it looked like. In the video I reference a previous dive on this spot. Here is the link to that viceo. th-cam.com/video/umCKMzSs_gk/w-d-xo.html
Middle Grounds, Don't watch, boring 170

Not always exciting but If you want to watch, you can.
Evil Zebra fish are on the menu

Another dive with the invasive Lion-fish. Luckily for me only the fish experienced "punctures" this day.

Awesome. Great new spot.
Thanks for watching
Nice spot and a great catch!
Thanks for the comment
Very nice dive on a productive spot.
Thanks for watching
No lobster 🤣
Ass
@@ThatsStillUs 🤷♂️
There my have been one in that far right crack but you know I don’t even see them.
I went back to this spot this year (new gun glitch video). I now know where the gags went from this dive.
@@ThatsStillUs it’s a cool little spot. Had some huge scamps on it too
top
Dog 😮 they just wouldn't spook 😂 How many times do you have them saying, pick me Ohh pick me 😂 Wisdom 13:1-9 ❤
Only the spots that have never seen a diver. I knew the gags wouldn’t stay long though. Had there been some place to get in or water not as clear they might have stayed longer.
Nice extraction. I thought he was gonna reel you to boat for a second 😅
Ha. I usually stringer and un hook but that freed me up to look a bit.
relaxa ta muito nervoso kkk
Solid production and covered some ground on half tank.
Thanks. The recovery on the third mangrove cost me a couple of those hogfish
Brother you got robbed on those shots. They looked solid, but it bounced right off. So much life down there. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Viva Cristo Rey
Big mangroves pull off a lot of times. The only one I shot that got away was the scamp and it was a high shot. It will survive
Snapper slapper
Absolute Slob of a Mangrove!!!!
Nike recovery.
I average one a trip. Sometimes it’s anchors sometimes fish
❤❤❤nice sharing😊😊😊new friend here
Thanks for the comment
Porque vc soltou o peixe chibungo......?
It was still attached to my fishing line. My friend in the Boat reeled it up and brought it in.
Great catch!
Thanks for watching
Thats awesome.
Thanks for watching. I go In every time I can if we break off a good fish. I’m most cases they will be in a hole. Never found his hook this time. Might have been that big barracuda that was lurking 👀
Nice dive Steve. I’m watching and dreaming of gag fishing again…
Muttons on my mind. Hopefully Wednesday-Thursday
@@ThatsStillUsI may be wrong but @ 3:00 that sure looks like 2 petrified rib bones of some sort laying across rock ?
I think it’s rope. We were just to the inside of the shipping lanes. I will take a second look when I’m back in that area next time. I’m always hoping to find a couple containers or airplanes in 150-200’. So far no luck. Thanks for watching
Nice find.
Thanks. For every good find I probably make 3 nothing dives.
Nice stringer Scuba Steve! Glad the top notch came out to say good bye.
Me too with the flooded light I couldn’t look under, had just enough air to wait it out.
Can you link me the stringer you're using?
I make a lot of my “utensils “. Including all my stringer loops, pole spears, lionfish bags.
Miami?
I am a Miami fan. I hate it for Tua and the team.
@@ThatsStillUsGo Canes!
That maybe all we have to cheer for this year
How much of that money was guaranteed?
Awesome! Have you ever had issues with sharks and your fish on the loop? I am thinking about starting to spearfish while I scuba and am curious how you deal with sharks and dead fish close to your body
The closer you keep them the better. In most cases I swim after the sharks and make good eye contact. They usually get the message if not then it gets ugly.
@@ThatsStillUs oh wow, how many times has it gotten ugly for you?
A few, I dont celebrate those with “shock value videos “ just to get views. My channel is more for keeping a running history of some of my dives so my friends can see what I’m up too. Thanks for the comments.
@@ThatsStillUs I always like seeing how other people handle those situations from an educational standpoint so that if/when I encounter it I will have some idea of what to do.
@@jamesiv960 The worst thing you can do is let one get a taste of free fish. Most times I can chase them away my literally chasing them. Some times it takes a poke from a spear gun. A few times it takes more that youtube will allow.
Yes Sir, fresh fish for dinner.
I chose the smaller lobster for dinner. Thanks for watching
Man the lobsters everywhere
I’m putting you in there next time you come over. I never even made it to the “corner “ where all the bugs are at.
Nice job! You said $60 for a new light. What kind of light do you get for $60? I'm curious, you size tanks do you dive with?
That was a old dive rite light. They were 50-60. Probably 100 now. Mostly steel 100-120’s on the tanks.
Very nice spot.
Yes never went in on that end. And was trying to make my way to the place where the rocks make a 90 degree corner… never did. Maybe next year as I don’t go back unless I left something like a stringer loop or anchor. Thanks for watching
NO WAY!! I guess Rich T w SG gets A+ for barb pinning. Gun didn’t even torque! Flopper didn’t blow off. No way I’d think that tiny barb pin could transfer that band power from the seer of the trigger mech. Even at or very close to resting band draw stationary pressure. That was a first to enjoy watching real time in the field.
Was a definite surprise/shock to me to hear click and nothing happen. Only 125’ so not much narc but was baffled. I have since shot one flopper off. All my shafts had floppers on bottom. Free shafting means interchangeable shafts. I’ve since reset floppers to top shaft but a bottom one gets in the mix now and then. Thanks for watching and comment
@@ThatsStillUs I get it! It’d be VERY odd to not have a banded shaft exit gun upon feeling/hearing a solid trigger pull. Cool video to post. Thanks Scuba Steve!
@@davidbrown5906my buddy Eddie had the same thing happen with his and I shot a flopper off before I realized what was happening. I changed all my shafts after that.
Dude that LF bag is epic where do you get them
I made it. You have a need for one?
@@ThatsStillUs it holds lions? Yea seems useful
@slinginsteel100 lions lobster, scorpion fish. This is like version 6.0. Never had a spine cone through. I lost my working bag earlier this year and built this one in a similar form. I am currently testing better lobster containment.
@@ThatsStillUs thats sick man u should sell them
Big scorpionfish
Gotta love Batfish
that doesn't say where this is shot ?
great video as usual! where can i get a catch bag like yours to buy. i live in jamaica and i love hunting lionfish but the zoo keeper is to cumberssome !
Man that whistle is weird. Close to the one that I heard but not quite. Wonder what they have in the area making it.
Yeah, when I heard it, I went back and watched your video. Little different cadence, but got to be coming from the same source
@@ThatsStillUs what time frame is it between the two dives?
Close, it’s only about 1500’ between. If I remember correctly you guys bounced the first time and went back.
It was loudest between 2:30 and 2:45 on my video.
@@ThatsStillUs I mean the dates we hit them
Reminds me of an oldie, The Lions Sleep Tonight 😂
I like it… Can I use that for a title? I see a lot of lions in my future with all the closures.
It’s like they know when the season is closed. Nice dive.
$160 for a regular zookeeper. 200 for the extended. Not sure how much work or how much material is but maybe onto something with the bag. Yours is better and more compact and holds more
Holy crap that is a shocking price. I never priced them. Used Chris’ once and knew that was not for me. I also had a new idea for lobster containment. This one will hold 50 lbs.
That was a quick 3 dozen lion fish. Good work Steve!
@@ThatsStillUs The biggest one they advertise with the extension holds 24 pounds.
Thanks nick. Let’s team up on some aj’s. They were taking 2 lb bliners and jolts off our lines that night.
I had 30 lb on this dive (31 fish) and it was half full.
cool video, neat catch bag!
They do some crazy stuff sometimes.

Godbless brother!
Is this commercial spearfishing?!
Yes.
@@ThatsStillUs nice 👍
They have to have something around
You and Chris dove the east side of that ridge two years ago in October. It has bigger holes and ledges but this side has the hogs.
@@ThatsStillUs tons of hard bottom so I can see why. I had too much current to explore like you did.
@@jasonbihari Did you hear the whistle?
@@chrisbranco9640 was that the spot? I didn’t hear anything abnormal
I’ll have to check that video. The GW whistle may have been the place you got the fireback Chris.
Nice video man.
Thanks
Soooo many fish. Miss diving with that dude. Was that the WAP?
You know your spots. Had you ever seen that clip of Jason?
Yes. That was me filming.
I know but I never used that clip.
I don't listen to a word from the environmentalists and the climate freaks. It's the true fishermen and divers who love and care for their bread and butter, the ocean and waters. Ain't no Bankers gonna lead obummer and his buddies the millions and millions for their multiple beach front property. Bankers like to know that they will get their money back, and don't you know that they have their own weather and climate people, making sure of the return. It's just common sense. Ya'll do beautiful work and show Wisdom 13:1-9 very well. Be Alert and Defend US fishery Waters. Viva Cristo Rey
99% of people have zero knowledge of how restrictive our seasons and limits are. If I wasn’t commercial it wouldn’t be worth it to even go in the water.
What's the matter are you scared of that 🦞 reach down there and grab it with your hand good God man you act like it's going to bite your hand off😂 you go diving with my Hawaiian boys they would laugh you out of the water😂
Lionfish are the dumbest fish on the planet
Bag work good. Just need to work on the drain a little and it’ll be perfect
And up size the tubes. That female lobster was on the medium size and that was the larger tube. Have to tweak the new design
Lobster tube. Leave it up to u. Always making improvements.
