I don’t know about everybody else, but it sounds like Jalen Daniels has some issues. when a coach does a Texas to step around a question like that look out! Here’s my theory we’ll see how it plays out. The OC leaves because he knows Jaylin is not going to be able to perform at the same level and his offense will not look as good.. so he gets out while the getting is good. If he felt confident in the offense this season, he would stay knowing he would have a really good shot at a head coaching job next year. Wouldn’t be the first time this happened. Does anyone else feel this way or am I way off base?

Penn State is a job you just don’t turn down, nothing to do with Daniels. I think he’s fine. How can they say with confidence that he’s healthy? They thought he was last season.

@@jeffkilgore6320 Maybe but people have turned down a job if they felt like they were on a path to have a successful season. Banking on turning it into a head job

It's probably not related to Kotelnicki. Early in Leipold's career, the head coach at Whitewater urged him to take a job at Nebraska-Omaha and start building his résumé. Leipold would have happily stayed at his alma mater, but the coach knew it wasn't best for his career. It's a lesson that he's carried with him. He's good at creating a culture where people are encouraged to follow the path that will lead them to success. In most cases, his teams have been so good that the best path has been to stick with Leipold. In this case, coordinators at elite programs are often the guys sought after to take over major jobs, so if Kotelnicki can prove that he can do it elsewhere, then he'll have the clout he needs to take the next step.
I think he's just as worried as everyone else simply because back problems can flare up. Jalon is outwardly healthy, but nobody has a crystal ball to know if those problems are gone for good.

While there may be some truth to this, Jalon’s injury status has been a topic of discussion for multiple years now. When you’re getting asked about it so much to the point that you have no other option but to say the same thing over and over again, it’s understandable.
On Penn State.. that a job that you just don’t turn down. I don’t think it has anything to do with JD6’s injury. When you’ve coached in D3, the opportunity to go to a blue blood should never be taken for granted, especially if you’re not a head coach yet…

@@MVPincorporated Your points are very valid. I was just bringing up a possibility just to stir things up in the middle of summer waiting for the football season to start.
