A very good and new street interview again ! 👍 Some questions you ask create a funny answer and make the interview even more joyful. I agree, sometimes tests (not only in English) don't reflect the reality and what people already can do. And about your video on a technical side : they are very good, because the sound is good, the video too, and you even provide us two different angles of view for everyone you interview. Merci beaucoup pour ces partages ! :)

    THANK YOU, GREAT SUBJECT, INTERVIEW!
Chinese people usually understand more than they speak, certainly w foreigners, due to relative shyness, and fear of making mistakes.
Acheiving HIgher Brain/Thinking Function, as well as Developing Creativity, and Exercising Alternative thinking ARE deeply innate and seldom recognized BENEFITS of learning and practicing a foreign language.

Good interviews Jessica. It's a nice change of pace to see interviews with the people of China. I look forward to seeing more of these if you so indulge us. I am slowly improving my Mandarin to do my part to understand the Chinese in their native tongue.
Also, that woman in the hat and glasses honestly speaks more clear, accurate English than many Canadians born here, hah.
Yes, the HSK system isn't perfect, I'd prefer a larger emphasis on oral language only for HSK3 onward (old HSK system).

Are there any questions you want to ask for people in China?

@@jessicastreettv1461 Hello, not specifically.. I suppose I might be interested in what similarities they see among Chinese culture and the West, especially the middle aged to university generation. How do they view the increased level of foreign workers in China, some who may even speak Mandarin?
The fact that more Western citizens are learning Mandarin and more Chinese are speaking English has to be a positive for improved relations.

I first went to China in 1978. Nobody spoke English, not even badly.
