  • Shot in 4K! Who ate my grapes? Protect my grapes by screening surveillance video footage who is eating them and how they do it. Turned out I have more lovely neighbors than I thought. This is also a great example of improving ourselves by learning from the wonderful animals.

    Thank you so much for this video!!! Oh my! I got mysterious guests to damage my lovely protected grapes but I could not find out who are they!! I was about to set up a camera to film who are the destroyers. You saved my time! Thank you.

    Great video. I’ve had a grapevine for over 20 year which is always covered in bunches of grapes. This year we’ve had a lot of rats in the garden and the grapes have been picked off before they ripened. I’ve been considering chilli pepper or chilli oil as a deterrent - but it’s too late for this year. Most of the grapes are gone.

    Xueming - Thanks for posting this video! Last year both of my grape vines were decimated by rats and mocking birds so I'm searching for a solution before this year's harvest.

    Thank you for your entertaining video! Last year, I made cluster-sized "cages" out of chicken wire....it worked, but not very practical, as it took a long time to make them. I was wondering if using your bags & applying something like Cayenne Pepper onto the bags would help deter the rats? I'm going to try that this year.

      Cayenne Pepper sounds like a cool idea. Hope it's not adding flavor to the fruits!

    Gosh I have exactly the same problem and yes, rats in Australia also knows how to get into the mesh bag, or chew through it if it's clipped!

    where can I buy those bags

  • @IvarDaigon
    @IvarDaigon ปีที่แล้ว

    You can use PET bottles to protect hanging grapes.. just cut off the bottom of the bottle and then poke the bunch through the neck of the bottle when they are still small and after they have flowered... then secure it to the main vine with a strong cord.
    However with bunches that big you'd need pretty large bottes like 2-3L Juice bottles.
    Rats and birds cannot chew through PET or climb on it because they have no way to grip onto the hard plastic.
