2003 Mariner 5hp Long Shaft Two Stroke Outboard Engine

This is a Mariner 5hp two stroke that had been in storage for at least five years. The engine tray and base gasket have been changed and this is the first run. Running at about 40:1 petrol:oil to ensure good initial lubrication after storage - normal recommended ratio is 100:1.

Still up there - different listing. I needed to change the base gasket.

Yes, it’s normal - the water jet is there to show that cooling water is circulating properly.
