In the original series Terra was one of Slades (Also known as Deathstroke) lackeys and former love interest of Beast Boy. She was a double agent sent to spy on the Titans. Her powers consist of manipulation of of the earth (Hence her name being pun on Terran and Tara). Similar to that of Toph from Airbender. She would eventually betray Slade after realizing the affection Beast Boy and the other Titans showed to her.

Yup, Terra is definitely in my Top 10 in both the original Teen Titans and TTG, and despite the treatment she got in 2003, she instantly won me over with her design.
