I often struggle with resisting new games each year so this year I decided that instead of looking forward, I've decided to look towards my board game shelf and ponder about those games that I have yet to play more of! Great approach, both to your personal gaming goals for the year and also to putting a unique twist on the standard “anticipated games” video! We are trying to put a bigger focus on our existing shelves this year too with a “play our entire collection” challenge. Some serious work ahead of us both 😅

Botanicus, Fromage, River of Gold, Windmill Valley, Wondrous Creatures, Spectacular, Harmonies, Foundations of Metropolis, Harvest and Knarr are on my shelf and my top 10 to play for the first time in 2025. Happy gaming!
I love Trajan, but it's mentally brutal! Be prepared for exhaustion after playing. It's one of my favorites, even though the on-board stuff isn't that interesting. It's that color-coded mancala that is just so fascinating

I love this theme and concept! With thousands of new releases each year it's so easy to get sucked up into the 'cult of the new' when we already have awesome games on our shelves that deserve more play time... well, those of us with large collections anyway. What's on my list to play? All my games!
My current 'stack of opportunity' - games I mean to play in 2025 - has the following games still on it (I have already gotten 1 to the table in January): Barcelona, Wondrous Creatures, Architects of the West Kingdom, Endeavor Deep Sea, Paris: New Eden, Evacuation, Rats of Wistar, Wild Gardens, and Rebuilding Seattle. My 'shelf of opportunity' contains a lot more games than that!
Thanks for the video. You gamer TH-camrs should promote this idea of playing un-played games more as opposed to buying new games all the time. It's all about wanting what you got as opposed to getting what you want lol!!! Do you realize that "unconventional anticipated list" applied to mining one's own collection should instead be the norm as opposed to looking forward to new unpublished games? Quite symptomatic of the consumerism in our societies. I plead guilty too don't worry ;-)
Planet Unknown. I mean, what's wrong with me? I hear it's super easy to learn. Yet, I keep playing ones I've played a hundred times. 🤦🤷 Great list, BTW! Trajan is great. Agra piques my interest.
I don’t really want to play mystery date again--I don’t dress like that anymore and the men sure don’t either! A dare was going to a really nice restaurant,not taking a trip to Japan for a week!

River of Gold is sitting here waiting to be played. We played 2 games on BGA before buying it, then got busy lol
Wish I had been able to get my hands on Wondrous Creatures for Christmas. Picked up Apiary instead. Still unplayed lol

In 2025 I plan to play my newly arrived copy of Arydia. From the unplayed shelf: Earthborne Rangers and Ascendancy. That should keep me busy!

Seems like a good video, but you should include an index to skip games that people don’t care about
I see things pretty differently from you. I'm not into euro games, so this list doesn’t really do it for me. Everyone’s got their own taste, though.
